Want a G37xs but scared to get one in Cleveland with horrible snow AND roads.

I am from Miami, Florida and so I never drove in actual snow. I keep wanting to purchase a sexy 2012 or 2013 G37xs coupe. Then I think of how much snow I am going to get and get nervious that I am going to regret it. Then I am back on the boat to get a G37xs, but then I drive around town in what has to be the worst roads I have ever experienced. I never felt such bad roads and big pot holes and that is driving my stock 2004 Lexus IS300 with 17" wheels.

How well does this car drive safely in snow? Not, fun in snow, but safely? As I cant bring myself in getting a Subaru. Also, how well does this suspension and big 19" wheels handle horrible roads like these?

Please help

put snow tires on the g37xs and drive sensibly and you'll be fine.

AWD and snow tires you won't have an issue getting around. I've driven the last few winters with rwd living a few hours north of Montana, be smart about your driving and there won't be any issues.

I have a G37x coupe up in Massachusetts, snow tires and you're set. I had to drive through a couple of blizzards this past winter and had ZERO issues.

The "snow" button behind the shifter retards the throttle input about 50% which slows down the torque delivery, and the AWD and traction control systems are very good about shifting power so you go where you're aiming.

(you can have a lot of fun with the X plus snow tires too, sport mode + traction control off :-D)

I live in Toronto and believe me we get snow I drive a 2010 G37x Sedan and it is a beast in the snow. If you put winter tires on it the G is a monster cause of the all wheel drive and snow mode option.

The car will be fine in the snow. I drive a G37xS coupe in Buffalo with snow tires and it's great.

Regarding the pot holes, you're going to cringe every time you hit one. I drive around most of them.

Want a G37xs but scared to get one in Cleveland with horrible snow AND roads.

I'm in the same boat (I live in Minnesota), except I made the jump and bought a 2011 G37x Coupe. Now my question is, are all season tires acceptable with AWD, or do I have to purchase specifically snow tires?

The reason I ask is the tires that came with the car need replacing, and if I had to buy season specific tires, I'm gonna end up breaking the bank

Thanks for any advice!

Can you get away with all seasons? Yeah, a lot of people do. You'd be a whole lot better getting a set of winters and a set of summers though, you'd have better traction in every situation, your tires will also last twice as long as you're only running each set for half the year. Only you can decide what to do though.

I have a 2012 G37xS coupe and was fine in Chicago winter with all season tires. Just drive sensibly with snow mode activated and you'll be fine.

I'm from CLE and I 2nd the horrible roads, but with the help of good snow tires my '10 G37S RWD has been doing just fine! Had a G35 before that and it too was great in the snow. Proper winter tires are a must! I also run my snow tires on the stock 19" wheels, so to stop myself from repeating, it's not an issue, as everyone has said, drive responsibly.

Our roads are not so great here either

As for snow my G37S is fine with Michelin AS3's in getting me home in a raging NJ snowstorm.
Just not so great in over 8' of un-plowed snow in my driveway.

What is the best way to keep salt (and snow) from damaging the car?

I know car wash is the obvious answer, but how does that hold up in freezing temperatures? I don't want frozen doors and windows
