Key recognition module

I'm having a hard time trying to find out what the part is called under the armrest in mu car. What ever it is, it was fried due to when the car was flooded and burned a small hole in the arm rest. I was told the part was called a key control module or something and that it was the part that recognized the key. Does anyone know what the correct name for this part is??

The only part under the center console, at least on my '08 Coupe, is the yaw sensor. It works with the VDC and traction control systems. To my knowledge it has nothing to do with the key/fob.

This is what it looks like in my car. Hope this helps.

I think the OP is talking about the door arm rest, not the center console which we all use as an arm rest.

Ah, in that case I stand corrected. Based on that, which makes more sense, it could be the keyless entry antenna, except they are usually mounted in the exterior door handle. I really can't think of anything near the arm rest which would cause the damage the OP described. I've removed my interior door panel several times with my mirror projects and unless it's the power window master switch, there's nothing there to overheat and melt plastic unless there is a major difference between model years.

Ah well, I tried....
Here's the keyless entry antenna

Yes it does help I guess I should have stayed that I was talking about the center armrest, that's my bad. Last question is there anyway I can get a wiring diagram or some kind of layout to see where all the modules are located? I need to replace my BCM and ECU
