Worth it?
I'm looking at purchasing a used G37 coupe manual. I have two that I am looking at and the price difference is $6k. In your opinion would you pay the $6k for the newer car?

I would pay $6K more to take car #2 as
-It's newer with more option and less mileage.
-The engine & transmission on car #2 should be better (I presume the transmission on 2012 model is different than the first couple years models).
-Also you can use buit-in Bluetooth to stream music on your phones

Go for it. The Nav and I think you can stream or more easily connect your phone for audio playback. I have an 09 and it's a PITA to use the vizio tune2air with another adapter plus the factory cable

it s no brainer i will pay 6K more to go with the 2nd option. I dont like the idea of getting cars with higher mileage and accident report.

Ok so I got a chance to go see both of them. The 2008 seemed very nice at first glance, exterior was in great shape, wheels were perfect. Interior was in very good condition, then I noticed melting dash doh! Took her out for a spin and it was pretty bad, brakes/rotors were shot, crazy vibration under heavy braking (hell even light braking). Odd burnt smell coming from exhaust.
Then I saw the 2012. Exterior wise definitely worse than the 2008 (probably because the black shows every single swirl and scratch). Wheels were ok for the most part slight marks on one of them. Exterior black trim though was very worn for the age must have not been garage kept. Interior was in great shape except for the plastic bit in the back seat center console I'm guessing they had a dog or something that scratched the **** out of that.
Test drive was good drove great much better than the 2008. Brakes worked great, no odd smells from engine or exhaust. The only thing I did notice is an odd woosh sound when shifting in lower gears under heavy load. Mainly 2-3 it almost sounds like a vacuum forming or something. Not sure if this is normal? Do not recall hearing it in the 2008 but that one had so much going on I may have been distracted.
Anyways at this point I am considering the 2012 and will probably post a new thread if I end up getting her!

I would go for the 2012, a little elbow grease will take care of that paint and I imagine if there is anything wrong with the transmission it would still be covered under warranty.

Ok another update. I did end up getting the 2012 car however new issues have risen. I bought it from Carmax so I have until like Tuesday to return it if I choose to.
Anyways everything was fine during test drives, however after taking it home clutch pedal started sticking and I also noticed a loose spring sensation on the pedal when pressed all the way down. Since its under warranty till Dec of this year I took it today to my Infiniti dealer to have it checked out. They said they replaced the transmission fluid with some "new" fluid which they are using now and also that they would have to order parts for the clutch assembly to fix the loose spring feel when pressing the clutch.
Ok whatever no biggie, here is where it get interesting. Service advisor tells me the car already had the transmission replaced at 20k miles. So now I have two ways to look at it, previous owner beat the **** out of it or couldnt drive stick worth a damn and blew it up at 20k miles. Car is at 40k miles now so that thing is about to blow any moment. Or I can say maybe the transmission was defective and so now I have a transmission with only 20k miles on it for the price of a 40k mile one.
Personally I'm leaning towards the first one, but dunno. Would be interested in your thoughts.
