Oh, man! Hopefully it's the second one! Having to think about what the previous owner/s did to the G every time you get in it, doesn't sound too fun. Maybe you should have waited a bit for a 3rd option, 4th, 5th...

Well I didn't know about the transmission until I took into Infiniti to have it checked out. I can still take it back until Wednesday. Still haven't decided what to do.

Replaced the transmission at 20k?

That's pretty odd. You sure he wasn't saying they replaced the clutch?

At any rate I wouldn't freak out about it. What's done is done. As you said- they probably couldn't drive a stick OR it was a defective gearbox. One way or another the issue is probably resolved!

He might have meant the clutch but he did say transmission. I can always double check with him tomorrow. Honestly I have been looking around and at least within a 200 mile radius pickings are slim. Next most comparable car is a 2013 with 5k less miles CPO but the dealer wants $3k more than I paid for mine. That may not sound like much but I'm already above what I wanted to spend by like another $3k. With the extra $3k I can probably replace the clutch if it comes down to it and probably have some left over. After that they get even more pricey, they have a very nice IPL basically brand new for $35k very nice but too rich for my blood.

If you're getting a bad vibe and are able to get out of the deal, do so. These 6mt coupes are not as rare as the sedans so you should be able to find something else. That third car you might be able to haggle down to $2K over your price or less.

2013 MY will give you at least 2 more years of factory warranty. Take a look. If it appears to be in better condition inside and out, the price difference will be worth it. Have the dealership run a vehicle service history. That will indicate any warranty repairs done (other repairs too possibly if done at a dealer level).

Folks just got a new car. Was going to go with the 6 cyl accord sedan but found it was seeping transfluid between the case halves when on the lift. Passed on it. A second car wasn't leaking but the trans casing had weird corrosion on it. Passed on the 6 cyl altogether and got a 4 cyl elsewhere.
