whose gone from a g35 coupe to a g37/q60

Hello I have a 07 g35 coupe that I brought in November. I love my car to death and when shopping I had absolutely no desire to get a g37 at all. Last weekend I went to my Infiniti dealership to verify a part number so that I can change my spark plugs this weekend and while I was there I fell in love with a red q60s with black
wheels a black spoiler partially black grill and black interior with red stitching. As a college student however I of course do not have 60k to spend on a car lol. But ever since I've been gaining interest in 09+ g37xs. So I wondering if anyone here has made the switch and what they liked and didn't like about it.

Seems like you saw the Q60s Limited Edition. Most of the pieces are ok there... but they could have kept the non-matching body parts. It is much too boy racer for a car that costs what it costs.

I came out of a 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT and went to a 2008 G37s 6MT. I love everything about my upgraded coupe. The sound system, driving dynamic, improved lighting, keyless go, touch screen, and increased reliability make me smile. The only thing I miss about my G35 coupe is the more aggressive sounding exhaust honestly. Even that can be fixed with this car though... so there really isn't much to miss.

If you make the jump, you won't regret it. G37 takes all of the good things about G35 and makes them better while keeping the spirit of the G35 intact.

The G37/Q60 is not worth $60k, not even worth $50k. Get a nice late model used like I did. Yes, I can afford a brand new one.. not worth the $$. That $60k car in 3yrs will sell for $30k or less with only 20k miles on it.

I definitely agree with you guys about the the price. I was only looking at 09+ g37xs. The awd feature in the coupes is really interesting/cool to me. But I did research and realized why the 60 stood out to me so much more it was venetian ruby which replaced the red color on the g37s. The color looks great to me alot better in person then online. I'm still not a fan of the interior changes they did to the dash/headunit but the awd and the the factory look of the venetian ruby q60 is enough to make me switch if it were cheaper

I had a loaded 07 G35 coupe 6-mt which I absolutely loved and it was my first Infiniti. Loved the athens blue color along with the massive 19s. I loved the GPS sliding up from the dash. The car overall was a raunchy car, bumpy ride, uncomfy seats, loud stock exhaust (which I loved btw) and basically not refined. I loved it either way. I went from that to an 08 G37 coupe and that was completely different from the ride quality, comfort quality, sound quality to overall amenities offered to me. The G37 coupe was extremely refined at the time and I loved it. I'm now in a Q60S which is basically the same thing but I feel my 08 Coupe was better built and has more substance to it as odd as it sounds.

I miss the overall experience of the G35, I didn't feel the need to mod its exhaust, and with a nice Injen ram air intake, I was completely satisfied. The G37 coupe however is more refined, more amenities and a well rounded car. Test drive it and see how you like it. Mind you all my coupes were 6-speed manuals.

Yea I love my g35 as well its exactly the same as yours except I don't have nav or ras. I think I'm gonna pass on the g37 just based on the color alone I was never impressed by them but the q60 really impressed me appearance wise so I would've gotten one and built it up if I had a solid base appearance and motor wise but I think I'm going to wait until the actual q60s become cheaper

G37 doesn't impress you but the q60 does? You realize they're the same exact car?

From what I've read, since the 2016 remodel is coming out, the fully loaded 2015's Limited 6mt should be worth around 40k max?

The real reason he is drawn to the Q60 vs the G37 is because he likes Venetian Ruby vs Vibrant Red. It is understandable too. That color is lovely.

OP- if the color is what you are waiting for... just wait a bit longer. When the redesigned Q60 appears, the value of these cars will likely drop a bit more. Then, you will be able to find a low mileage used one and pick it up for a good deal.

I never understand why infiniti does those gap years where there's not a big body change but name and price changes. But idr the mileage but the one I saw they were asking 59xxx

I agree. Its weird to me that the color played that big of a part in it to me because I've never had any interest in the g37 body style until I saw this q60. The color looks alot better in person than online also

I went from 06 G35 S coupe to 08 G37S so I see every little thing they've improved where someone who never owned G35 might not notice or appreciate. Under the hood - much easier to access and replace air filters, hood struts are a nice touch. Inside: new sports seats are better bolstered than G35 seats, memory card for songs is cool but I never use it, they've finally integrated ipod\MP3 player capability when before I had to buy additional equipment and install it in the trunk with wires running through the interior. Stock sport wheels actually got worse, 19 inch volks were better quality, forged and lighter than 19 inch enkeis but it's not a huge difference. Tech package wasn't available on G35 as far as I can remember but it's not for everyone, things like adaptive headlights and intelligent cruise control are cool but can be lived without. I really hated how G35 6MT couldn't be bought with a keyless keyfob for some BS reason, with G37 6MT it's not an issue anymore. There are some other minor things here and there, overall G37 is a better car but not by a lot. It's also heavier and seems to burn through more gas. 6MT tranny remained as rough and unrefined as it was in G35 but I got used to it a long time ago...

If you change your sparkplugs on your own - be careful, label the wires and whatever you do - don't strip the bolts that secure coilpacks to the head. Those are a bitch to extract later. I regretted doing sparkplugs on my own as I've ran into a lot of issues but then again I'm not very mechanically inclined.

Thanks I appreciate the advise. how do you like the radio/nav console? I've always liked how the g35 looked better. And I was researching on here and I believe the answer is no. But is there a kit for you to get aftermarket double din radios for the g37? And do you have built in bluetooth to play music or only to talk on the phone like in the 35?

I think the one in g37 is integrated better than the one in G35, although some people like how the one in G35 comes out automatically. G37 radio and screens are well designed and easy to use, however navigation sort of sucks even when compared to google maps although it's not designed by Infiniti, and every time you update it - you have to pay company who made it and the dealership to install the update which is terrible, out $250 just for some crappy update.

I know it was easy to do double din radio on G35 because of the way console was layed out, it appears to be much more complicated on G37 but I do not know exact details on it. Bluetooth music streaming is available on G37 with nav or you can buy an audio receiver for $30 for a car without nav and the receiver will make it work.
