Need to replace my passenger side ball joint in my 08 g37s coupe, apparently you need to replace the entire control arm? Anything I should hit the aftermarket for or is stock replacements the best way to go. The quote was 900 with labor for a factory replacement.

Thats way to much for just one control arm. Just go aftermarket but use a reputable company. GL!

I'm assuming by "control arm" you're talking about the front upper control arm. Use SPC if you ever want to lower the car and have camber adjustments.

Please specify if you mean upper or lower control arm.

$900 for one side seems way to high. My dealer quoted me $1000 to replace both left and right lower control arms (including labour). The dealer and most people recommend replacing both at the same time.

No aftermarket front lower control arms are available from my research.

If you want the baddest and best check out SPL control arms. Not sure if they make it for the G though. They make some seriously beefy suspension parts.

I'm honestly not sure if it's the upper or lower, my guess is it is the lower. They showed my the car on the lift and I could grab it and wiggle it, it barely had any play at all I almost couldn't even notice. But it must be the lower. I'm not too familiar with the G suspension though. All I know is the shop said I need a ball joint but they only sell the whole control arm if someone could educate me on how the ball joint works in the G that would be awesome.

Thanks

You should be able to find a refurbished one.

Im sort of I'm the same boat. Ive had my g37 dropped on bc coils for over a year now, and when I had them installed I had the spc bundle. So today my driver fromt wheel was making a strange clunking sound took it to a shop, and they said it was the upper control arm ball joint. Does anyone know if I can just replace the ball joint or do I need to buy the whole control arm again? Since it was the spc adjustable control arm I'm thinking I just buy the ball joint again and replace it.
