Looking to buy a G37XS... any advice?
Hey All,
I have been a silent browser for some time now but as I get closer to purchasing my G, I wanted to make a post and get some opinions from the owners.
I am looking to buy a 2011-2013 G37 XS coupe and so far they have been slim. My top color choices are Moonlight White or Blue Slate. Both of which are extremely hard to find in the XS model.
So what are the things I should be looking for? I really want a car with the midnight black grille and rear spoiler if I can. Are there any other good options that I should look for? What types of issues should I keep an eye out for?
Any advice would be great!

I'd look for the spoiler already on there more than the grille.
It's way easier to install the grille yourself than to install the spoiler, and the midnight grille can regularly be found on eBay for $200.
Out of curiosity, what's your motivation for awd?

As for AWD, I am moving to Michigan in the very near future for work so I would prefer to have a car that is AWD so that brought me to the G37 or the Audi A5 (keeping me in a coupe at least).
If your in NJ check this one out it's a sick deal. It's definately an S I think previous owner debadged it and dealer doesn't know that's why it's so cheap.

I was talking it over with my dad and he keeps saying it's too good to be true but the CarFAX checks out fine and it doesn't look like its had paint work from the pictures. He thought maybe the trunk got bashed in and they replaced it with a G37 X model??? Any ideas, I think its just mislabeled and they didn't notice.
Yeah I'm thinking previous owner just removed the S. People do that to make you think they have the base model so if they are raced they have an advantage although anyone who knows what S comes with would know it was that from looking at it. It's possible the trunk was hit and swapped with an X trunk but carfax was fine so I dont think that was it. The S package costs about 2k more than the X so I just think they dealer doesn't know what they have as it's not an infiniti dealer so they prob arent familiar with model.
So I drove out to take a look at that white G37XS and it looked alright, I could tell the rims had been repaired and resprayed and the previous owner must have removed that S badge as it was still ghosted on the deck lid. The front bumper was bottomed out a few times and the interior had a few issues with wear on the silver trim panels but overall the car was in good condition.
The dealership however was SKETCHY! $24,500 asking price online, $32,000 retail sticker on the car. Go in to talk numbers and we start at 24,500 and start adding on the bogus fee's.
shop fee - 1000
doc fee - 400
out of state title trans fee - 250
random unexplained fee - 1800
and THEN, they tried to sell me a tracking service for my car. $3000 of BS. Then since I obviously didn't want it, there was a $675 fee to disable the "pre-installed" unit. I read up on it and they actually use those units to track you when you miss a payment. They can also kill your ignition so your car doesn't start.
So at the end of everything, I got them to trash the bull **** fee of 1800 that came from literally nothing and the 675 removal fee. It ended up being:
24,500
+1000
+250
+400
+ tax 1600
$27,750
So its still substantially cheaper than anything else I've seen so far but I passed on the car just on principle. A dealership like that made me feel uncomfortable and it makes me wonder what else they haven't told me about the car.

Damn sorry they hit you with so many fee's. I got hit with the Doc fee as well as the registration transfer fee's as well when I got mine from Ray Catena Infinity in Edison. They usually have a bunch of x models there you may want to call in to see if they have any XS's.
