the crappy thing with bose system is if you want to upgrade speakers you have to amplify them. you can add speakers to the factory amps but it wont sound good. Are you just looking for more bass?

Not sure how you're going to fit that massive re audio xxx sub in the non existent trunk of a g37 coupe. Big fan of old school re audio stuff though. Good luck on the build, post plenty of pictures. Ditch the cap. Get some more batteries in the back.

Just more everything... I have 2 older but perfect shape 12" Apline type R's, and a JL 10w7, thinking about throwing one of those in there with my jl 500/1. I liked the huge boom of the 10w7 w/ported box in the hatch of my RSX. But It's kind if a one note wonder I feel. I want something with more range, I'm hoping the type R's will supply that but still have good punch. Hence why I have 2, but idk about fitting 2 of them in the G coupe... Hopefully one will be enough punch. Then I want to just get better quality sound inside the cabin, and keep the stock Bose sub In the front too if possible, I like a little bass from the front. I'm audio ignorant though, so idk if that would be a good idea, and if I could keep that sub controlled by the factory head unit, and the rear sub seperately... Replacing the Bose stock amp isn't out of the question, but I want to keep it I guess under $1,000... But I do already have a sub and amp for the rear, so that won't come out of that budget.

I'd pick the w7 over type r. Plus fitting 2 12s not happening. The w7 is Def not a one note wonder. Put it in a good box and you'll be good.

The box I put it in was a JL audio anniversary ported box designed specifically for the 10w7... One note wonder is exaggerating. I love the sub, but it definitely doesn't have the best range. But it is a nice hard hitting sub. Especially in an RSX where the trunk isn't seperated, and the interior is made of thick rubber instead of plastic, so there is 0 rattle. Still kinda miss that car.

sorry for the delayed response have been really busy the last few days! you can fit 2 type r's in there but it has to be a custom box that's for sure. the alpine type r's will give you the good SQL where the W7 is more a a SPL sub. i have had both in my last infiniti a signle type r had crisp clean bass and my 12W7 would shake the car. you can keep the front door subs but it wouldn't keep par with the rest of the system. depending on your choice of brand alpine jl hertz infiniti all make amazing speakers/amp combos that you can get within your budget. i buy all my audio gear fromCar Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers very cheap and reasonable pricing.

here's a pic of my W7 in my old G

Here's some ideas for the alternator and axle:
1) For the alternator: 11340-270XP High Amp Alternator for Nissan 350Z, 370Z and Infiniti EX35, FX35, G35, G37
2) On the axle: Driveshaft Shop 1000HP Level 5 Direct Bolt-In Axles Infiniti G37 Coupe 09-11

In for updates. Nice build too.

Sorry for my late reply too lol.
Damn 604gz.... What is up with having a 10w7 and getting rear ended?

Was stopped behind a truck in San Antonio in a 35mph zone, guy on his cell phone was doing 70 and didn't even hit the brakes...

So I'm going with the 2 12" alpine type R's ... I'm not sure what I should do about an amp... I have a JL audio 500/1 ... Would getting a 2nd and putting one one each sub be a good idea? Or should I just sell it and get a single better amp? I'll probably put the subs in and do the interior at a later time... I'll check out that site, thanks for the link and advice!
