25K Maintenance Performed Today
25K Maintenance Performed Today
Had the 25k sch. maintenance in VanNuys, not bad..48 bucks. I had noticed a little lag, so dealer did ecm/tcm update..big upgrade pre & post. Also included was brake cleaning. WOW, brakes grab like new. Definitely recommend this.
I'm also very confused. 25k is an oil change and $48 is dealer oil change money. Sounds like they did some warranty work while you were there, while that's nice of them, it isn't really a 25k bundle they performed.

I called Infiniti of Boston, inquiring about a 60k service, they said $600 plus tax. So with that being said, I think I'll find what is performed, buy all the fluids and just bring it to guy.
Brakes at 30K? Replace brakes when they need replacement, never bundle brakes into a fixed mileage interval service (wear varies greatly based on geography, climate driving habits, etc.). Also, always look online for a coupon and find a dealer that will match. Brake replacement coupons are common.

I think schedule 1 or 2 works for most people. I pick and chose items from the Premium Schedule, but to be honest, my dealer will tell me that many of theses are unnecessary. I'm OCD, so I change the diff and trannie at 30K, but it's probably not needed. 60K is probably the more realistic interval.
The dealer can check your radiator fluid and let you know if a drain and refill is needed. Some folks do this annually, but I generally put it into the same classification as the brake fluid drain and refill.
Lose all the 'inspect' items as these are included with most oil change coupons you will find online. I generally have most of these done at each oil change. The dealer is eager to find things wrong, so 'inspections' are their way of farming for more work. Don't pay for these in a mileage interval service.
Cabin and Air Filters are definitely DIY. Buy good Gold filters from NAPA, change every 10-15K, never look back.
I do oil changes every 3500 miles using the blend synthetic the dealer recommends, regardless of what the automated sensors say.
Brake Fluid should be flushed every two years (i put radiator fluid drain and refills here as well).
I check wiper blades each week when I wash the car. Here in Socal, it rarely rains, so those suckers like to dry rot, then when it does rain, they disintegrate. Another easy NAPA based DIY for anyone.
These are ultra reliable cars, so if you educate yourself on what really needs to be done, the total cost of ownership is really low.
