This car is far from self driving. Cruise control + lane departure control does NOT equal a self driving car.

They're just driving aids. No different than auto-on headlights or rain sensing windshield wipers. You can still steer. You can still control the brakes and the accelerator. And there's always the option to not use them at all if you don't like them that some people seem to completely miss.

I was trying to find a way to say "a car that disconnects the driver from the road", but there wasn't enough room on the picture!

I wouldn't dream of trusting computers to "drive or park" my $50K+ car. And even if I were made of $$$$$ I'd be scared of the liability of letting a computer take control of the vehicle. I'm pretty sure that the courts wouldn't give a **** if it was "the cars fault" that I got into an accident. Bye bye wealth.

Watching those auto-park fail videos are always fun. +1 for technology -1 for lazy people

please look this up, but autonomous cars have a better driving record than human driven cars. A study was done for about 1,000,000 miles experimenting with safety regarding this fact, and in the same mileage, self driven cars recorded 0 accidents vs ? accidents. don't remember the number, but was surprised. if a person has anything to do with what ever, there will be mistakes made... human nature.

The active lane assist is no joke on this car. Ive used it in the rain and light snow (very light snow) and as long as it can read the lane markers, it works.

My Favorite is when I take the new hires on the test drive route and I let go of the steering wheel and watch as there face lights lights up in sheer terror with a look of not knowing what sorcery is driving the vehicle.
