Getting Rust on the Ole 35

Hey guys,

SO I noticed some rust coming in on the rear drivers side quarter panel. I went to about 3 body shops and got pretty much the same quote.

They can do a cut and patch with new metal then repaint the quarter and blend for 1000, however they cannot warranty any of the work and state that the rust will indefinitely come back... it could be a week, or it could be 5 years.

or they can do the entire quarter panel and then they will warranty all the work and they state the rust will not come back and it will cost like 2600

SO!! my question is, is any of this worth it? if so, which option would you guys go with..... I love this car and I really want to keep it, but I can't stand this s***** rust on here, its garbage!

My other question is, if you are cutting out all of the rusted metal, then you treat the area with proper primer and paint with new metal welded on.... why would the rust magically come back? every place said the same thing... if they cut all of the rust out.. then why and how would it come back unless the body shop failed at properly sealing the area....

Below are some pics of what is happening

There is a little evidence that I may have been, a slight dusting of paint in the door jam only I that side, the body shop even thought that the job looked good overall. But the mystery of it plagues me

Not sure I would spend $2600 on a car at least 7 years old.

Faaaget about it!

Not nearly as bad as the rust on the bottom of my old 69 VW Beedle with the drivers seat collapsing towards the roadway.

A new car comes with all new parts and a warranty
