New here, couple of questions

Hi guys, just purchased a used 2011 G37 coupe with around 16k miles and have a couple of questions.

1. Should I take it to the Infiniti dealership and have it checked out for any TSBs that may need to be applied and just have an overall checkup? They charge $125 for the multipurpose inspection.

2. Car came from Houston and I live in a smaller town. I'm sure that the car was driven mostly on the highway and my town will be more stop and go. Should I reset the ECU?

First of all, welcome to the forum. Second, 2011 with 16,000 miles?!?

Nice find. You might just be able to email the dealership to see if there are any TSB's that need to be applied, however, if you bought from an Infiniti dealership they should be keeping everything up to date on that end.

Resetting the ECU can't hurt, but probably isn't necessary.

A 2011 with only 16K on it? Nice find. I'd have it looked at by the dealership and I would also reset the ECU so it "relearns" your environment and driving habits. G/L and welcome to the forum.

It was bought from Texas Auto Direct, not a dealership. The $125 might be a good idea then?

Try the pedal mode for ECU reset or just disconnect the neg terminal?

What's the best first mod? Intake?

Depends..... Do you want noise or looks? I'd drop it and throw some nice wheels under her. Then start saving up your hard earned money because it will burn up quickly when the mod bug bites. LOL

My buddy GFN started this thread just for your situation. Check it out. https://www.myg37.com/forums/newbie-...rformance.html

Well both of course, noise AND looks. Found an awesome deal on an R2C intake from a forum sponsor. Think that's going to be the first mod.

You may regret short ram air intake tubes in the future. They are easy to install and filter maintenance is a breeze. The draw back is lower power then a true CAI after you end up getting a tune.
Do your research before making any purchases, you'll be better off for it.

Yep, I have read a TON of threads. Really not wanting to do any cutting at this point as would be needed for the Stillen Gen3/Takeda. Here's what I'm thinking in order.

Intake
Cusco strut bar
Springs/Camber
Exahust

I just got my 09 with 42k on it, and you gave me a great idea to go get it checked out by infiniti. I have to say if its 125, that will go a long way in my mind.

Agreed. Piece it together one at a time, the vision will come together gradually!
