Where do you mount your go pro

So I have a go pro and am going to get a suction cup mount and take some vids of me driving (for personal use, not going to upload them).

I was wondering, for the others that have a go pro, where do you mount it?

i don't really want to mount it outside and if I mount it on the windshield or on the sunroof (like I originally planned) the camera will be upside down.

Any thoughts? Mount suggestions or placement suggestions?

Thank you

there is a upside down mode on the gopro so that it will flip the images for you. But when I filmed in my S5 attached to the sunroof it sat a little high. Only other option may be back glass or on the little rear window part behind the main window but not sure how the field of view would be there

Oooooh, I did not know about the mode, everything makes more since, couldn't figure out why a mount wasn't offered to flip the camera, I will have to read the manual tonight. That makes buying a mount easier

I have the suction cup mount and have put it everywhere all over the car. Depends on what you are trying to film. Obviously anything outside the car is going to have really bad wind noise at speed. Also, if you put it on either door, it picks up the speakers pretty nicely through the door. Haha

Any reason you don't want to put the camera on the outside? Are you worried about it following off? If so I have drove with mine on the outside of the car and had no issues

I am a little worried about it falling off, but it's more my friend who is worried. We bought it together and he is a freak about things, he doesn't want me to risk it even though if I go with the Go Pro authentic mount it says it's rated for 150mph.

Once I have the camera and he's not around I'll prob just mount it to the outside, but would like to do both, inside and out.

I mount underneath the sunroof so it hangs down low. Best motoring styles.

I borrowed one from my friend for a roadtrip. Most of the shots I did were with it inside on the windshield or sunroof. I did stick it outside on the sunroof to get a little higher once. No issues

Back bumper to hear the exhaust or quarter panel to see who lost in a street race...

I don’t like using the suction cup mount on the windshield as it put a mark on the windshield and the gopro also blocks the view.

Instead I just put a curved adhesive mount on top of the center dashboard (right on top on the GPS display). It works well for what I want.
