Highly considering purchasing a g37 ( Had some questions )

First of all does this belong in any other forum sections? Just want to make sure.

So I have a 2011 Scion tC that I baby.
Heres a picture of it:

Lately I'm bored of how slow it is... I've always been a huge fan of g35 and g37's and recently I was looking into purchasing a new car like Mustang gt 2015 ( expensive.. ), WRX ( Not that great looking ), and a few other cars, you get my taste...

The other day a girl pulled up next to me in a really nice white g37, smiled and just flew and took the highway exit at like 50mph in the rain... my Jaw hit the floor. It was like a sign from god showing me the car I've been wanting.

I really want to purchase a used one with 20-40k miles around 24-27k. Are there any do's and dont's I need to know? packages? just anything I need to be worried about with this car? things I need to watch out for? Forums are the best place for this kinda stuff. Any information at all I would really appreciate it. Just share your experience.

I love white cars on black rims, but I'm very open to gray and silver on black rims as well. even black cars.. ( Although they are very hard to keep clean ) I think as long as it's slightly lowered and has black rims I'm happy.

Also a few pictures might just do the trick. I want to be convinced that this is the car for me! lol. Thank you!.

Welcome to the forum, the G37 is an excellent platform, but there are a few things that you should know before buying one.

The first thing is whether or not you actually want a G37. If you're looking as GT Mustangs, you should know up front that you're not buying horsepower. There is plenty of power for what it is, but you'll never, I repeat.. NEVER, be able to do the same things a mustang can on a quarter mile without some serious modifications. It might just be cheaper to buy a mustang rather than buying a G37, ripping everything out, and stuffing a turbocharger in it.

That being said, the G37 is perfect for what I want. I want class, reliability, speed, and luxury. The platform is mod-friendly, and there are lots of vendors servicing the car for just about anything you want. As far as packages to shop for, if you plan on modding the car heavily, there's not a TON of reason to get a G37s. The "sport" package gets you tighter suspension via stiffer sway bars, bigger brakes, and a tighter steering rack (I think). If you plan on swapping those out anyways....then it's not necessary to get the package.

Older model G37's may have an oil consumption issue, or laggy transmissions, but there are service bulletins that can fix both of those. Check out the forum here, there may very well be a pre-modded G37 that fits your criteria and takes care of the leg work for you.

Welcome to the forum, you definitely will be taking a huge step up from a FWD tC to a true performance RWD coupe with the G37. IMO best all around performance entry level luxury car you can buy.
I didnt want to go with a german car because they have poor reliability and the maintenance costs / parts are a fortune. The G is very reliable and will go head to head with its german rivals in performance. I also think the G coupe is the better looking car, especially the Sport model with the larger wheels, more aggressive bumper / body kit, and sport suspension.
In terms of model years, I highly recommend a 2009+ if you want the auto trans because it is the first year with the 7 speed. With the Sport model you also get the paddle shifters which makes the auto the best of both worlds.
Good luck finding a G, make sure you get a quality independent car inspection with whatever car you buy.
