Looks like another Tanabe knock-off. I believe there is a company called Topspeed which makes the "same" exhaust.

Because I'm on a shoestring budget anyway and won't have a lot of cash to spare after buying a used G37 I'm going to consider one of these ... I'll probably buy a G that's in not-so-stellar conditions. But you need to go in with eyes open. From what I've read these are nowhere near the fit and finish of the Tanabe and there have been installation issues.

In other words, if you're rolling on Vossens, buy an exhaust worthy of your car - or if you have no such aspirations to have a photoshoot car then drop the $250 and be prepared for some install issues, but you should end up with a great sound. My $0.02 hope some real owners chime in...

I've got one coming. Not sure if its the same one as pictured. It cost 190 shipped off ebay. I'm hoping it arrives by saturday. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I can't see spending a grand or more for sound. Also just removing the stock muffler is GHETTO!!!!

FriedLumpia is correct, the finish isn't the best, and I experienced fitment issues installing mine - (the passenger side is a tad close to the bumper).

With that said, I am loving the sound the topspeed axlebacks produce. Well worth it in my opinion.

$200 vs. $1000+++

It's not about saving up. It's about spending that amount of money on something that gives very little power or real performance. Plus you really can't even see it.

No Thank You Sir...

It's not going to be made from the same high quality materials. The fitment is not going to be very good and it will probably rust.

Just from my experience on 40+ forums and seeing people buy eBay exhausts

I bought the top speed exhaust first. It was pretty nice but the finish wasnt the best. The tips started to discolor after about 6 months and eventually started to drone so I went to the invidia system.

I have them, they sound great. The guys at the dealership are always commenting on how much they like the sound. The fit was a bit tight on the drivers side, just needed to bend the hanger a tad bit...other than that well worth it.

LOL I feel where you are coming from
I just think that buying an Axelback for looks and sound I would see where I could put that money elsewhere you know?

This thread:

There were other threads on this forum that talked about authentic vs knock off but if you search google, you'll see why you're hurting the industry.

You don't have to be loaded to play the game and you don't need $1K+ for a good exhaust. I got my MXP catback for $700 shipped. The classifieds is an excellent place to start.
