Making the chome trim on the trunk black

I would like to make the chome trim on the trunk black. Has anyone done that? Should I paint it or use some type of vinyl wrap?

I found this picture online. That's what I'm looking for.

You got it.

If you want to make the chrome part black, you can either plastidip it, but I only recommend doing that if you want to see *TEMPORARILY* what it would look like black.

For permanent solutions, vinyl wrapping or painting will fit the bill exactly. Brad, BLnewt, is kind of our resident vinyl expert. As far as painting, I would just take it to a body shop and have them do it right with automotive paint.

Welcome,
Anthony

Thats 3M Carbon in the picture...

you can go to any vinyl shop and they can do it for you or wrap in a gloss black.

I wrapped mine in matte black vinyl. Looks good and holding up nicely after a year. 3m brand. Had it done at a good tint shop.

Honestly it looks tacky like in the pics. Im not a fan.

If you do it, i would suggest painting it the same exact color as the car.

Best option would be buying the OEM spoiLer that is a little bigger(sold by infiniti / aftermarket replica). Or go all out and get a duckbill trunk.

the Carbon won't look bad! You can wrap it in the carbon 3m and then clear it, it would look nice... i would stay away from any other color besides a gloss white or the carbon though

My choice as well; it really makes the rear end look much better!
