since my sedan had the tanabe medalion I was used to a 'larger' tips, these might be a tiny bit smaller, I didn't measure them.

Sorry but that's just wrong. The g37s and ipl are using completely different exhausts. The ipl is a true duel exhaust with 2.5" tips, the sport exhaust is not a true dual exhaust and has only 2.25" tips...
