passenger window doesnt go up automatically

I got a '09 g37s coupe and my passenger window won't go up automatically once the door is close. I have to manually hold up the power window switch for it to go up. If the door is opened, it goes up fine. any thoughts on how to rectify this issue?

I suspect the mechanism that slightly lowers/raises the window when the door is opened & closed is messed up...

window reset

Sounds like you need to reset the auto up. Search for it here or look in the manual. I don't recall just how to perform the reset but I had similar problems with mine and I reset it and it works fine. If you can't find the DIY then let me know and I will check the manual. I do know it has been posted before.

do the followings to reset passenger window:
- First, roll-down the passenger window in 1/3
- Second, roll-up the passenger window to fully close - hold-on the window button for 5 seconds
- Thrid, release the window button.

This should fix problem.

Thank you all. My local mechanic wanted to take the door panel off to clean the mechanism but i was hoping for an easier fix. I would try all possible solutions given here and report my findings.

Take the door panel off vs. a reset?

Sounds like you need a new mechanic...

Good call, Sewlman2!

It happened to me once when the car was still in warranty, I brought the car back to the dealer and it took them only few minutes to reset.

it works!

Sorry for the late response. I got my passenger window dealt with. the sensor reset did work. Thanks to Swelman (Idk how to directly tag him in the post).

I went further and made a bet over a case of beer with my mechanic. He took off the door panel to clean the sensor but it didn't rectify the problem. The sensor reset did.

Forum:1 - Mechanic: 0.

Added tip: when the Passenger module is plugged out of the harness, the sensors have to be reset. the window will go down automatically but it will not go up auto.

Thanks again!
