Steering peel and wind noise help!

Hey guys,

I just bought a used G37s 2008 and I checked up the car before buying it.
The car has about 50k miles on it.
I have two problems so far thats driving me insane. The steering started peeling and that really ruined the interior quality look of the car.
Secondly theres a wind noise whenever I reach to 70 miles/hr and above. This noise is coming from where my mirrors are on both sides of the car.
I am guessing that this is due to the tear in the triangular rubber covering the mirror bracket where the twitter is (confirmation needed).
I wanted to buy the rubber but dealership said that it comes as a package with the mirror and that is costly.
I attached a couple of pics for your reference.

Much appreciated guys.

The rubber tear in those locations don't cause the wind noise. It's actually caused by the rubber trim where the window meets the a pillar. I try stuffing some foam behind it to make it press to the window a bit harder (over time it might have lost some of its original form). This might help.

About your steering wheel, damn...uh. It looks like the previous owner was picking at it or something. Never seen that before. Nothing you can do about that except get it rewrapped or replaced (don't buy one from the dealer--it's a 900 dollar part).

Go custom

You can get a steering wheel wrapped custom 2 tone with contrasting baseball stitching for about $500 bucks. I know this seems high but it takes someone about 8 hours to properly wrap one. stock replacement is $900 so your saving 400. Do it right once instead of right the second time.

I think this is the first time I have ever seen a steering wheel peel on any G. I wonder if this was caused by a combination of cleaning-chemicals/sunlight exposure? Wind noise is common on first gens, but a 2008 is still relatively new.

I think there was actually a TSB on it in the past.

EDIT: TSB for the steering wheel peel, not the wind noise. There is a DIY on how to do it in the DIY section pf this forum.

I was afraid that was the case
As for the rubber trim, how much will it cost for me to change it? and once I do will the wind noise disappear?

Thanks a lot guys!
