It's the ONLY way to get the (imo) fantastic sport seats. I'm tall and the non sport seats just don't have enough length to the bottoms for me (though some wider people have concerns about the sport seats being too narrow).

It's the ONLY way to get the quicker steering ratio. It really makes the car come alive, not just during aggressive driving but even driving normally it makes the car feel much sharper.

The brakes aren't just better because they let you drive more aggressively, they have a much much more linear feel to them.

While it's true tires for the larger wheels are more expensive, you could easily sell the 19 inch wheels, buy stock 18 inchers, and have some extra cash in your pocket if it's actually a deal breaker. Personally, I don't find a set of Super Sports to be overly expensive, but it's all relative.

The appearance package is nice... not a deal breaker to not have it but imo looks much nicer.

Honestly, the only time I would tell someone to skip the sport package is if they just can't handle the firmer suspension, but it really isn't that firm (I have had the car in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, not exactly glass roads).

Finally, if you plan to sell your car ever, the sport package holds its value super well. Seriously, unless you simply can't find the cash or can't handle the suspension or seats, you'll make most of your cash back on resale and likely turn a proffit long term if you sell your 19 inch wheels right away.

It really is a super great deal, you get so much for really not a huge amount more.

Also

If you don't care about the looks of the sport package, and don't care about the driving improvements, why are you getting the coupe again? The sedan is cheaper and more functional anyway, just get that.

AHHH, I was wondering when someone would ask me why am I getting that car.
It's the great, great, great grandson of the 300Z. Still driving an 85 and will be till my car guy hits me with a number that's out of my $$$ to keep it rolling
The reason I'm not getting the sedan is because the one with the biggest car
Drives
Which also means, the one with who drives, Does not drink.

How did I come to pick this car. It's a Z with a trunk. Though small it's still has one and choices run short on non German, RWD 2 door cars and no American cars were never on the list.

I seek as a luxury sports car not a sports luxury car.
That little S when I factor in how much More it will cost me in insurance alone. Is a little out of reach in my book.

Honestly this car is bad with fuel economy. If you want something with more respectible numbers, you need to consider an A4 or 2011/2012 335i. The turbo inline six will decimate this car on the MPG front.

As for the LSD, a big reason I went with Infiniti over BMW again was the fact I didn't need to break the bank to get a LSD. With BMW, you must go with the M badge. Expect to shell out big bucks for non-molested cars

Thanks guys for all the replies.

I live in rainy south florida so no snow for me...

I do see a lot of Awd models for sale down here. Probably flood vehicles from up north.

This is a long off purchase right now. I plan to buy at the end of year and want to be around 25k so 10-12 is proabably all I can get.

If an extra 4 - 5 MPG is really that big a deal the G is the wrong car for you...

All great points, especially the last bit.

There are so many threads here about modding the car; the sport package includes so much of that stuff already I think it's a no-brainer if you have the option to get it.

Mybe you're just not really G material...

Actually, I'm an insurance agent lol and the "S" should not cost you anymore on insurance. A lot of people misconceive sports cars costing more on insurance and that's just not true.

The main things insurance takes into account is you're driving record and you're credit score (you could not have an accident in 50 years but have terrible credit and your insurance would be sky high).

The cars are secondary in rating. And the things they take into account are: engine size (same with s or base) and value (so close that it doesn't make a difference)... If your insurance agent is telling you the "s" cost more, he's just trying to get a little more commision off of you.

As pacman2012 says, the S factor should not affect your insurance. What will, however, and in the right way, is the back seat, which is another advantage over the Z; it takes the G out of the sports car catagory and therefore lowers your rates.

I look at the G37 as a GT, as in Gran Turisimo...

The only problem I've ever had with my 2010 G Coupe was that the gas door wouldn't unlock properly. No problems with it in my new 2013. Overall I would reccommend it, especially if you want a sporty/classy car.

As a follow up to what pacman stated earlier, paying higher insurance premiums for a G37 Coupe with the Sport Package is totally incorrect.

I was reviewing my policy yesterday with my agent and brought up the question. He punched in a few keys and said there was absolutely no difference in the annual premium for an AWD Coupe with the Sport Package compared to an AWD Coupe without the Sport Package. He said the two vehicles are classified exactly the same in the system.
