Check the engine compartment for any cracks or any indication that the bonds have separated. In that case I'd guess that its on the border of being totaled.

I have been waived of all faults for accident, and my car is now on its way to the dealer for a tear-down, right now a total loss adjuster has been assigned as it all depends on how much damage they find under the bumper/inside etc... if there is even a wrinkle on any of the major points in the main frame, it's done...

Jeez, glad you're okay. Best case scenario already for being completely not at fault btw

Really doubt that would be totaled. Maybe a 20k repair.

I'm late to the discussion, but since the airbag deployed they may total the car. It may also have a "scrap" title. Make sure you get reimbursed for "deminished value". But speak to your insurance agent, they should guide you through the maze.

Do you have any updates?

Good Luck

26k with labour, MPI told me the damage must exceed 75% of blackbook, which they pegged at 44k, so they will no be writing it off. Infiniti said they will give me fair worth in the future when I decide to upgrade etc... not something another dealer would do...

^^^ that's exactly how insurance works.. Must exceed 75% of value of the car... Can't just as them for a 44k check lol

Exclamation

Forgot to update this, it was written off.

Final tally was 37,800 with taxes and labour.<o></o>

MPI cut me a check for 47800, I didn’t argue or fight for more because I had GAP insurance, and I will let GAP pay out the rest of theloan. <o></o>

The whole 68k loan gets paid off, that's g37xs, taxes, and negative equity from trade-ins.

Unfortunately I am moving on from Infiniti, I purchased a 2013 GTI 5door Loaded, Nav, everything the G had minus a few horsies I am saving 350/mnth on payments and I now have trunk room.

I am safe and happy with the new car. The G was definitely fun while it lasted!

One day I will be back though!

Glad to hear it all worked out and you have some savings every month, also some savings at the pump too
Those GTIs are fun cars to drive, not quite the same, but a sporty way to get around. Have fun
