Wow, MikeKilo, you read my mind. I'd definitely go armed on something like this. At the very least, a stun gun and pepper spray, if nothing else.

I'm looking forward to updates and pics of Orpheus on the road. I smell a possible book, too, a la Last of the Saddle Tramps

I honestly have heard nothing but bad things about the laser shifters. If you decide you want some laser protection, really the way to go is Laser Interceptor imo.

Nice radar detector though, that's a great unit!

Sweet, have a great trip. My 2011 IPL has about 20k on the clock, but it does go through tires, so be prepared..otherwise, enjoy and have fun. Be safe. Remember, on your way back, do not go through Virginia with the Escort in the windshield.

Thanks Guys,
First , picked up a Samsung Galaxy S4 love it for the trip, a real Bluetooth wonder ...

Secondly any radar detecting devices will be professionally installed and discrete...

Lastly I'm a former firearms instructor and all I'll say is yes I do have a carry permit...

I just wanted to add that I really enjoy the 7 speed auto on this car with the paddle shifters in DS mode...

I will be making a pit stop at an Infiniti dealer in CA for an oil change , I use Nissan Ester oil with an extra large oil filter on this car exclusively and perhaps a new set of Michelin tires if need be...

Thank you for your good will and wishes' and concerns...
Alex

Sounds like an amazing trip. Only thing I might suggest you putting on as we'll is maybe some sway bars. Our IPLs do handle well but you never know what you may come across on some mountain road. Plus there not extremely expensive. I have the FI CF exhaust and double resonated TPs on my IPL and love it. It's kinda loud outside but doesn't bother me at all inside. You won't notice much increase with the Gen 3 as well. There will be a whistle when you let off the gas with all 3 . I ended up canceling my weather and traffic on mine because the S4 maps and weather is much better. Just a waste of money for me.

Have a great time and be careful!

Moving along....

Hi Everyone,
I'm coming closer to take off day on my cross-country trip, that being said I ordered my high flow cats from Tony at Fast Intentions, I really wanted to install the full cat back exhaust ,but the wait time was in the area of 11 weeks, Tony a wonderful guy said he would personally be making my high flow cats for "Orpheus" my G37 IPL ,once I have the high flow cats up and running I'll order the rest of the exhaust and have it shipped to me on the road ,like I said I would have liked it all set up but at least it's better than just the stock sound and exhaust for the time being ....

Moving along , I also ordered my Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires , front and rear from the Tire Rack truly impressed with Tucker from Tire Rack they made a customer out me that's for sure ...Tires arrived today , made an appointment to have the Michelin Pilot Super Sport put on the car Monday morning and have a front wheel aliment as well...

Next I'll be installing the high flow cats from Fast Intentions...

Finally I'll install the cold intakes Gen 3 Ultra long Tube from Stillen on "Orpheus"

Stay tune, appreciate any tips and insight as I put all these moving parts together for this solo cross-country trip...

Thanks ,
Alex

You should check out the Passport Max radar detector the reviews have been great, and it just came out a few weeks ago.
