I owned a few Nissan Z cars 350Z and a 370Z , I drove the 08 Z with full bolt on and Gen 3 intakes from Stillen to Key West ,love it ...I managed to just make the height limit for AmTrack car train to Florida drove the rest of the way tons of fun , with me It's not so much about comfort not saying I don't enjoy it, but I love the sound of a great exhaust note and a car that handles and performs well on the road ...

In the cockpit:
I will have updated Nav from Infiniti , Infiniti Personal Assistant , Siriusx Weather and Traffic ... Passport 9500ix, Escort Laser Shifters ZR4... Bluetooth, MP3, Infiniti Music box loaded, Smartphone and laptop...

When legal I enjoy pushing the performance of the car as far as my driving talents allow .
This is a safe car and very forgivable on the road and most of all dependable ...
Don't regret choosing it over a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport 3LT for this trip..

For me in most cases it's not even the destination but the fun in getting there in a great handling responsive car that roars down the road... The adventure of the road meeting new folks seeing new places and things along the way...

The IPL is built like a tank solid , does its best work at high end , it can take the G's at speed like a jet fighter, it will go the distance I'm absolutely sure if anything will give out it will be the driver...The IPL is the type of car that once you bond with it , you just don't drive it, you wear it!..

Can't wait till it's Just me the car and the endless road...

Thanks all and please stay tuned...

If you come across Route 66 you will no doubt stop at the Grand Canyon. Plan on taking in the sunset from one of the eastern lookouts like Yaki Point. The crowds are gone by this time and the solitude coupled with the most incredible views make it an unforgettable experience. I'm jealous of your road trip and look forward to seeing your photos from across the country.

Hi ,
Thanks for the tip I do plan on stopping by both of these wonderful places..

A large part of what this trip is about is simply being unpluged , I don't have to be any place or report to anyone and I have the means to do it!

That being said ... I hope to be disciplined enough to deal with navigational and logistical concerns like understanding the lay of the land where things are and how to get there...

1. Making daily log entries , like mileage , gas oil...
2. How much driving per day and pit stops along the way ...
3. Planning my next day's drive route , tolls , roads weather ,refueling , reservations ...
4. Points of interest , historical, cultural , I love fine art museums , art galleries ...
5. Finding great local dinners and some upscale fine dining spots as well ...
6. I don't plan on staying at 4 and five star hotels every night , but it won't hurt to stay in a few if I see some along the way ...

As for clothing I'll be taking a duffel bag and one set of business casual wear, anything else I'll buy along the way...

The differences in this trip and Blue Highways is the IPL a large part of this trip will be enjoying this vehicle it's handing and performance on the road , as much as the destinations I will be going to...

I will be using both interstates and Blue Highways as needed and I do plan on enjoying some of the finer things in life as well as points of interest and any natural wonders along the way I may encounter for as long as it takes...

I also plan on writing and reflecting on my journey nightly as well as pausing to take and post as many pictures as possible to capture this wonderful country and its roads on this road trip for others to enjoy... ....

From Fast Intentions...
"An increased average of nearly 20 RWH and over 17 LBS of torque in conjunction with our G37 cat back exhaust system."

348 hp @ 7,400 rpm , 276 lb-ft @ 5,200 rpm
+ 20 hp +17
368 hp @ 7,400 rpm 293 lb-ft @ 5,200 rpm

Stillen is boasting 18.5 at the rear wheels with its Gen 3 intake ...

I know these numbers may not add up to the numbers they say you'll get at the wheels in any particular car and some bolt on's may cancel out other bolt on's even which ones are put on first could change the numbers...

Having a car Dyno tested can give a good approximation of these figures , that being said the bolt on's I mentioned will give this car a good jump in performance, was my point...

P.S. Forgot to mention got the bra and tint already, I'm debating doing the entire hood with 3M? Thanks...
I think you're being far more than just optimistic with these numbers, especially considering the fact that the IPL hp increase is due to exhaust and tune. The gains in an IPL will not be the same as those seen in other G37's. A non-IPL may see a 40hp increase (at the crank) with a Fast Int. exhaust and tune, but since an IPL already has a better exhaust and supporting tune from the factory those same gains cannot be acquired by those means alone.

On a more positive note (in regards to your OP), I'm jelly of the up coming road trip. I was a god among men (banged hot bitches on the regular, kicked everyone's ***, partied like a rock star, was a living legend/name preceded me, etc.), but I never went on a road trip alone. Hats off to you sir.

That's right in my back yard. Been on it a lot on my vintage Yamaha but have yet to take the G out on it.

Definitely worth it if you are in the area during your journey.

Are you gonna be armed for this trip? If you don't have it already, I suggest you get your Concealed Carry License and check the CCL laws in all the states you're going though. And don't forget the 5 Hour Energy and Red Bulls!
