Dealer replaced my chipped door pull trim...
My service representative told me that wear and tear usually isn't covered, but they offered me a one-time replacement because there was no other damage to the door pull trim that could have caused the chipping. Just an FYI for other guys that have had the same problem.
On my '08 that piece is aluminum (with plastic hooks to attach it). They cost about $40 each and they are not priced the same for some, unknown to me, reason. I have an old appliance motor with a buffing pad on it, so I scraped off the film that chips off and buffed them shiny.

There are 2 trim strips on the doors...the long one that runs horizontally across the top of the door panel and the smaller one that runs vertically on the door pull (not the door handle). The one I had replaced was the smaller aluminum trim.
