$3000 dollars performance upgrade
I would say if you have 3k, wait and save some more money and go FI. Thats the only way you are going to see any "REAL" gains. These cars are not what you would call mod friendly and you will spend 3k in a heart beat to get a fraction of what you can get out of other cars. So the guy who said if you want to go fast buy a different car is pretty much on the right track. If you really want your G to have good bang for the buck, save more coinage and go FI.
And you guys said the forum lost its humor...
Maybe look up the thread about the guy that wanted to weld the turbo on top of the engine for added power, and better air flow. Freaking genius that guy, hands down that was the thread of the century. He can probably do it all for under 3k too

^I would say regardless of if you run boost later do test pipes and exhaust now with a tune. Depending on what setup you went with later you can keep what you buy and have an uprev license already. I'd add intakes too since they don't depreciate much you can always sell them if you change your mind.
Thanks guys. I will run a hello in the newbe section as requested.
I am guessing the word "tune" means a chip> Just thought that would be the best thing as that alone gets about 20 to 40 hp gain I hear.
So I figure for 3k (maybe even 2k) with a better intake, exhaust, and chip - it sounds like you can get about a 40 or 45 hp.
I guess the bad thing is a 2009 G37 with 60k miles probably lost about 12 to 15 hp over the years. moving from the stock 330 to reality of 315 hp.
Also I am reading that going FI (I am guessing that is Fuel Injection? to turbo?) or using a Super charger is a better option as it gains real hp in quantity. So maybe I need to go 4k for that and maybe 1.5 for some of the others.
Good to know.
Thanks!

Tune means take your car to a shop and have them "tune" your fuel map.
No comment on the second one...
FI = Forced Induction (Supercharger $6k-$7k just for the kit) or (Turbocharger, Twin Turbo kit will run $8k - $10k)
Not sure what you are planning on getting by bumping up to $4K...but good luck
