I know we don't have a ton of high mileage Gs yet, but the issues here are very tame compared to other makes.

2008s are relatively trouble free. Don't forget that the coupe is not very different from the sedan mechanically, which came out a year before.

We are on our 3rd Infiniti (ahem, brag, cough cough) with absolutely no mechanical problems from any of them.

It happens to the best of us. Just learn to try to move along and pass threads that get you irate and ignore them. Sometimes it can be difficult.

The Red Bull Team? They race Renault engines. Infiniti is a title sponsor, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the technology on the car.

Here's his past post:

"Well the check engine light was tripped due to a large piece of rubber that was sucked into the throttle body (cheap coupler provided by Takeda) and once found and removed the car went back to running as it should so I expect the trouble code to be something related to that. It has not extinguished so far and I will read and clear it once I get the scanner on the 5th....if it's no biggy to drive with it lit up then I will forego having it read and cleared by autozone or any other auto parts retailer. I already disconnected the battery and let it sit for about 2 hours and the CEL is still lit up."

Even back then he was calling his car a lemon!!
Thats what I thought. Dang..may have broken his own car.

This reminds me of when I had my first car (1990 Saab 900S) and I tried doing some back-yard modifications...smh. I know that I personally can't handle simple modifications without messing things up.

So to conclude, OP if you tried to install a CAI and messed up, save yourself future headaches and get a professional to install your mods for you. You may know how it works but its takes a greater level of understanding and patience to install it yourself.

Plus, in regards to first run models (i.e. 08 G37s) I researched greatly to find out the differences between the years and its (basically) the same car from 08-present. That's why I was comfortable to purchase one used (with extended warranty of course, never forget the warranty brothers & sisters).

P.S. - OP if you think this is bad, try owning a Ford Probe. That was the worst car I ever own. Infiniti is Nissan and their cars are pretty much bullet-proof in real life.

Bottom Line!! don't buy an 2008! don't buy a car that you can't afford to take dealer to have thing's fixed!!

And don't jump on internet bad mouthing the G37 because you don't know WTF you are doing and can't afford the car in the first place!!! Go buy an Honda! and race that out!

When you get a chance, read what it says on your throttle body!!

Renault has a 44.4 percent stake in Nissan, and Nissan holds a 15 percent stake in Renault.

Just because Budwiser sponsors a race car does not mean there is a Budwiser engine in it. That would still hold true even if they owned 44% of GM
