Dealership Advice

Hey guys,

I went to my dealer near my house at beginning of march of this year. I had asked the service lady if the chipping/peeling of the steering wheel was covered under my 4 year bumper to bumper warranty. She said "no it is wear and tear" im just at another dealership to get my oil change and asked the service guy if that should
Be covered and he said "yes it should be but ur warranty is gone as of end of march"

Im really ticked off.. I know its my fault that i didnt go to a different dealer to check bak in march but thats not the point. The point is that the first dealer should have told me the truth. What should i do? Should i go try to fight it with the dealer or do i call infiniti? Any advice would
Be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you go to ALTA or Markham those guys are horrible at warranty work Or anything(look at their reviews online). They just want to take every penny out of your pocket... I had my CSC replaced under warranty and they added on $250(they originally wanted $300) for drilling out bolts that where seized. When I asked them why they where charging me for bs they threatened me by telling me that they can void my warranty bacause my car was lowered and I had some damage to my underbody... Call Infiniti north America and create a claim with them. If you have a reciept that says that they looked at the peeling then you should have a good case. Keep us posted

The response you get will vary from dealer to dealer. What you should do is go to the dealer that is willing to do it. You don't have to get it done at the dealer by your house.

^^ You are correct. There is a DIY that shows how to remove the steering wheel and how to cover the scratches.

OP, maybe try that DIY if you can't get a dealer to play ball...

You can try calling corporate Infiniti. Won't hurt you either way. They might say yes, they might say no. Really depends on who you talk to. I'm leaning towards you being SOL now that your warrant expired and this all happened 5 months ago. If it was more recent you'd probably get it taken care of no problem. But as I said call corporate, doesn't hurt to try.

If you are out of warranty now you are out of luck. If your were really concerned you should have pressed the issue or went to the other dealership back before it expired, not 5 months after.

I was in the same situation as you with the warranty expired and I just ordered the part from orderinfinitparts and I just did it myself. It is quite easy to do. Here are the part numbers, depending on the type of bezel you need. It is only a $8 part, but the stealership would actually change the entire steering wheel ceest to take the easy way out and will try and charge you over $500.

Nissan 48463-JK07A LIDSTEERING,RH - Black (both cruise-control and Navi/Bluetooth hole)
Nissan 48463-JK07B LIDSTEERING,RH - Beige (both cruise-control and Navi/Bluetooth hole)

here is the DIY

I have a question, if your car is modded such as intake, full exhaust and lowered, can they cancel your warranty right there?

Go and talk to the Tech Manager, he calls all of the shots there. if he isnt willing to do anything then your out of luck, and this helped me so its worth a try, LET THEM KNOW that you had previously tried another dealer and they gave you the run around, Service centers are only there to Serve you, therefore they work of a satisfaction chart. let them know that you had bad experiances with other dealers so they can i guess go easy on you, but without warrenty... its gna be hard.

P.S. calling corp. is your last option if that doesnt work you better clear up your upcoming sunday cause your going to be painting a steering wheel. good luck
