Best tint for 2012 G37 coupe

What's up everyone? Just got a new 2012 G37xS coupe and plan on getting tint. What transparency would be best looking on a black on black coupe with out being a cop magnet? I'm in NJ so all tint on front driver/passenger windows are technically illegal but most ppl do it anyway. Also, what brands are best and how much do you think I should pay to have this done? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

This depends on where you live. Every state has different tint laws. I would check with your state and match it according to that. You don't want to get pulled over for tint and pay another 200 to get it fixed again.

Carbon XP at 45% will still look good and be legal pretty much everywhere. I have it on my G and M and it's dark enough to def look tinted but not too dark for night or to get hassled.

As stated before, it depends on your local state tint laws. Alabama restricts anything below 35% but I went with 20% on my sides and rear. I haven't had any issues yet "fingers crossed". Personally I wouldn't do anything below 20%.

What you have to keep in mind is the factory windows have a tint already. In my case the 45% I added in combination with factory yields 37-38% so I'm just legal (35% in MD).

I have 35% tint all around on MW. I also live in NJ, and although I have only had my tints for a few weeks, i have passed numerous cops going less than 25 mph (they could easily see tints going that slow) and I have had cops behind me as well, and I have yet to be pulled over. 35% is nice because you can definitely tell its tinted, but not dark enough to attract unwanted attention.

cali law states no tint allowed for front windows.. yet i've been using limo (5%) all around for the last 4 years with no trouble. the law is one thing.. actually getting pulled over for it.. is another. you can go darker, but its just a game of luck.

My parents car was at 35% and it was pulled over.

I'm sure CO has tint laws as well, but I've never heard of getting pulled over for it. The altitude is harsh here with so much sun, lots of people using dark tints.

On my G, I did 35% in the front two windows and 15% on the rears... In Texas it is only 35% that is required on the front, rears don't matter

Having my 35% tints for a month or so now, I wish I could go back in time and get 30% all around. 30% all around would be my suggestion. As far a shops, depends on where you are located. I'm in the central jersey area and went to Auto Creations in Raritan. They do quality work at a decent price.

I am getting a Graphite G37xs this week if they can
do the trade with another dealer for the car I want.

I can't decide what I would do tint wise...
I think I may go with some of the Gray tints, I do not want to do mirror as they annoy me on other cars so I dont want to go that route.

I will go 20% or even darker on the rear windows but no darker than 35% on the front.

I notice lots of people tint the sun roof? What are the pros (other than blocking sun out when parked) and cons?
