Yes. I have been planning to fix mine, but I need time to use touch up paint, then sand and buff.

Yep. Its been an issue even on the older coupes. Our rear ends are semi wide-body so it catches rocks. Infiniti put that little piece of clear bra on it like that is really going to protect anything. ha!

Ya. I have it too. From what I understand, Infiniti paint is very soft.

Never have I had such a problem with chips on any other car I have ever owned, that I do with my G.

It blows

yea apparently its one of the worst paints out there.. real disappointment cuz its such a nice ride and expensive too so i don't understand why they wouldn't improve the paint..

Ok I don't usually post on here alot, but I'm so sick and tired of hearing people on here complain that Infiniti paint is soft. You guys think Infiniti is the only one with soft paint??????

Check out the BMW, Lexus, Hyundai, and whatever other forums there are out there. EVERYONE COMPLAINS ABOUT ROCK CHIPS. I have yet to come across a car that doesn't accumulate tons of chips.

If a rock or pebble traveling 75 mph hits some paint it sure as hell will chip. What the hell if a rock or pebble hits the windshield traveling at that speed it will chip too and glass is harder than any paint clearcoat.

Oh the other thing I hear on here that makes me laugh, "oh my G37 is a $40K car it shouldn't be chipping". Well just to let you know price doesn't mean ****. A friend of my dad has an S550 and that thing has chips all over the front like crazy. And if I'm not mistaken that car costs like 3 times the amount of any G37 on here. What's the excuse then? Check out the M5 board forums so many complaints about soft chipping paint. I'm just going to bring this up as I saw a member on here a while back mention that Hyundai paint is better lmao. Go to the Hyundai Genesis forums (gencoupe.com) so many complaints on there too about soft paint. Chips all over the doors and front bumper and Hyundai doesn't do **** about it:

http://www.gencoupe.com/exterior-200...-question.html

http://www.gencoupe.com/exterior-200...ock-chips.html

http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai...ead.php?t=3675

http://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c5...des-paint.html

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e63...ock-chips.html

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...nt-bumper.html

Keep it simple. If you don't want rock chips dont drive the car or get a clear bra because it's going to happen.

Agreed. Ever since the move to use more water-based paint, it's become soft across the board.

Excellent point! Except I don't recall anyone saying Infiniti is the only car with soft paint. And I don't own any of those cars so why would I compain about them?

Whoa whoa whoa. I didn't want to get people upset or anything, I was simply just wondering if my car was just an odd ball with this area for chipping. But I now know its not.

Almost every car I have had over the last 20 years has had paint chip issues...
Doesn't matter if it's Japanese, German, or American...they all have issues with paint easily chipping.

I can say that Infiniti paint is quite the opposite of soft (at least the scratch shield paint anyway). Try doing a paint correction on one (or ask any detailer that has) and you will know just how hard this paint is. This paint is tough as nails even when correcting the most minor of blemishes. I could correct a whole panel of another car in the time that it would take me to do a 2 x 2 area on Infiniti scratch shield paint (give or take).

Oh, and on the topic at hand, I donor have this issue in that area.
