Need opinion on modifying my Fast Intentions exhaust.

As the title states I wanna get your guys input on this. As you can see in the pic below the tips are touching my rear diffuser. This is the passenger side, drivers side looks the same just opposite obviously. Exhaust shop said they could cut the exhaust between the muffler and the flange, center it, and re-weld it. My question is would you guys do it?

I wanna make it clear I have no complaints about the exhaust and I love it. Just don't like it rubbing on the diffuser.

Thanks

I would actually if the shop knows what they're doing.

A G37 locally had yellow stains close to the tips due to contact with his diffuser too

Did you try lowering it by adjusting the exhaust hangers near the tips? You can either remove the exhaust and rubber hanger and bend them down a little bit or take them off and put spacers underneath it and bolt it back up, dropping it lower by the size of the spacer used. I'd suggest maybe 1/2" at to start. You may need to buy 3 bolts per side that are 1/2" longer (or whatever size spacers you choose).

Another option is to simply heat up and slightly bend the hanger that's welded to the tail pipe so that it hands down and toward the center a little bit.

This is what I'd try before cutting anything. A cheap and easy solution that may work.

I thought of that too. I'll try that first and see how it turns out. Only problem is the hanger is pulling it towards the diffuser so I'd have to extend it somehow as well.

Did you just put a spacer on the hanger that is mounted to the car?

Yeah I pulled the right muffler down till it cleared away from diffuser and stuck inside the hanger a couple thick washers to keep it where I wanted.

I would lossen all bolts that hold the FI system together at the pipes both at the mufflers and the forward ones at the stock pipes. Have someone hold the tips were you want them then tighten it back up. I removed my FS setup a couple times now and each time the tips ended up in a little bit of a different location.
