Hey folks, this is my first post.

I've been thinking about a g37 for a few years now and have finally gotten to the point of being ready to take the plunge on a used g37x.

The car is a 2009 with less than 13k miles.

The seller wants under 20K for the car... the car has been in a front end collision and has been repaired.

The repair specifics are as follows...

- New Hood
- New Front Bumper Cover
- New Rad. core-support

My question is... at less than 20K, is there something else wrong with the car? I don't know a lot about cars, but the repairs don't seem that major.

Also, is the mileage from the point of the repair or from when the car is new?

Finally, does the car still have a factory warranty seeing that is only 3 years old... or did the accident effectively end the warranty?

Any input is much appreciated.

the thing is that if there is an accident history on the car then the value takes a plunge. I went to trade in my 04 ML 350 and because it has a reported rear end collision the value fell 5K right there and this is an 09 and it will be more

The price is because it has been wrecked. The mileage isn't affected by the accident. Warranty is unaffected by the wreck as well, bumper to bumper is 48 months/60K miles.

I strongly urge you to have the car thoroughly checked out by an independent mechanic who specializes in such things. Not anyone the seller chooses, one you pick yourself. The money you spend might be well worth it. There are tons of horror stories about cars that have been in a "fender bender" or "minor accident" that turn out to be salvage titles or complete nightmares for the person who buys them. Then again it could be just fine. Pay for peace of mind if yo decide to pursue buying it.

In all honesty! I would spend a little more and get one that doesn't hold a salvage title.

 

I don't think it was established by the OP that the car has a salvage title, just hat he should check to make sure it doesn't.

Valid. Not to thread jack, because this might provide helpful info for someone in the future, but I was also under the impression that the warranty for those components that were replaced is also void. Also the dealer would make a compelling argument that many of the parts around these repaired areas are not covered under the factory warranty. In this case, the radiator, various A/C components, ext. Or am I way off, and voiding a warranty requires a salvage title?

I have decided to spend the extra and get a g37 that has not been in an accident.

Would you go for and g37 s or an ipl?

 

S if you plan to mod, IPL if you want to keep it mainly stock and don't mind paying the extra few thousand for a slight upgrade.
