Chipped hood, deep gash.
Hello, as title states, I discovered a deep gash on my hood with some chips to go along with it. Not exactly sure how that got there, I used to not park in my garage or the times I've left it overnight out in the streets. Clearly, a sharp object but again not sure what. Discovered it a few months ago and now im looking into fixing it. Wondering how much would repainting the hood cost? I've read the colors might not match up identically and could look off? I dont really see what else i could do either than leaving it alone and maybe just sealing it with touch up paint?
your input is greatly appreciated.

Cf vinyl, yeah you get what you pay for.
Price of a repaint would depend on your local shops.
But if there is and sounds like a repaint, I would check locally. I would say 3-400

The chip is on the lower portion of the hood so I couldn't put those 2 grill things in.
Not into the CF thing.
And I bought this car brand new so I hope the hood wasnt repainted. As far as I know it has not been repainted.

got a quote of about $800, said that they would have to blend the side panels as well to match the new paint. he also did confirm that the hood was indeed repainted which i find troubling as i got this car brand new vehicle. at this point i dont think ill pursue exactly what happened (ignorance is bliss.) he mentioned he worked at a ford dealership and he saw new cars get dinged during transportation and they would have to repaint the new cars. so its not completely abnormal. but still rare.
anywho, i decided not to go with the repainting and just roll on. im going to keep this car for awhile and dont plan on selling it anytime soon. i do have some swirls i need to address so ill be investing in a porter cable soon.
