As BB suggested, more young drivers are now buying used ‘08 and ’09 G37’s. That explains why in my new insurance bill that I received yesterday, my wife’s ’06 IS250 premium stayed the same, but mine, once again, went up for my ’08 G37 coupe. Here I am a mature owner in the same risk pool as these young hot dogs who poison the actuarial tables for the rest of us.

The way the city gets around the law on those, is they are usually citing a city ordinance CIVIL violation, which usually includes language such as, "[T]he registered owner of a vehicle commits a violation if he/she allows his/her vehicle to be driven into the intersection with a red signal light."

Most cities don't have a city ordinance for driving like an idiot so it falls under state law, which doesn't have the vagueness of an ordinance like the red light camera tickets. The camera tickets are civil penalties, whereas driving like this would most likely fall under criminal code, which is where you have to positively identify the driver of the vehicle.

Black Betty is 100% correct. More and more young people are finding themselves behind the wheel of what started out as a $45,000 vehicle. However, this evolution is the natural process of every appealing car. It happened with the 350Z and the G35. It is happening now with the G37 and the 370Z. We see it more and more on this forum every day with new, young members joining and more and more members showcasing cheap, "ricey" modifications. However, there really is no sense in complaining about it. It is inevitable. If it is a source of enough frustration and umbrage, maybe it is time for certain people to move on; buy a newer vehicle and then, in four years, re-voice their disgust with that car's new proprietors.

Video is broken. But it's funny to see some people pissed about the "peasants" now able to afford what was once a $45k car.

With that said, I do despise *******s who speed as drive recklessly in residential areas. Screw them.
