Stop saying this stuff, Mike! I bought my G at Norwood. You are going to get me in trouble... The warranty is still good even though you ditched Stillen's tune, correct?

Wow! You guys are missing some truth about fi'ing a NA car. Pls don't make it sound like there won't be any issues at all because there will be some sooner or later. Its just a matter of time before something breaks. Sure some Infiniti dealer say they'll cover everything but by how much? Do you think Infiniti of north America would cover a blown engine caused by the S/C or TT. I think not! The dealership doesn't call the shots, Infiniti of north America does and that's why every single warranty job needs to get approved and the broken part must be sent back.

You could always see if the dealer will let you buy the 2 year maintenance package on the M3 or throw it in with the deal (essentially adds 2 years of warranty). A brake job alone on that car is upwards of $2k. It'd be an awesome car for sure, but like any high performance vehicle it comes with a good amount of upkeep. My next car will likely be an M3 or a 911, but I will lease or purchase new.

I got rid of my last vehicle because I lost confidence in it after making a few very expensive repairs. It was slowly turning into a money pit and every time I drove it all I could concentrate on was odd sounds or issues.

Got tired of wearing myself out and not enjoying it so I traded it in for a brand new G37, paid an extra $2k and got an 8 year 100k mile warranty. Don't have to worry about the car until 2020 (I only put about 10k miles a year on my cars).

Try a G with the S package or maybe an IPL if you can find a used one. Add a set of sway bars for $400-$500 to get rid of any body roll and I think you'd be very happy if that's the only issue you have with the G.

... You already know I'm not messing with FI, Wei Wei. I'm aware of all the headaches associated with FI on the VQ. I enjoy the naturally aspirated G... No boost for me.

Hehe! If I were to do it again I would probably just sell the car and get something that was made for forced induction.

yea they do, Check in with the Manager when I was there again getting my SC fluid change( Saturday) no diff to We all know that the car is more likly to blow up on the Stillen tune anyway..

weiboy, I do not think I'm missing anything "really" I have it in writing from them and I'm sure that if something goes boom" knock on wood" Infiniti would take care of it.. As bad as Stillen is there still Carb leagal and last time I check Carb leagal would hold factory warrenties? No.. Maybe to legal for me, But they could say the same thing about intakes and exhaust. I know ,I know intakes are not ramping up 9 psi of boost into the engine.

As far as I know your warranty through STILLEN is voided for the kit because you got a custom tune. I know you have it in writing that your dealer would still honor you your factory warranty but nobody would know till something happens(knock on wood too). All I'm trying to say is Infiniti of north America would not warranty an engine that got damaged because of a forced induction kit unless your dealer knows somebody inside and writing it as other causes of the blown engine lol

Do you plan on keeping the car long term?

We have a BMW and the maintenance costs for it has definitely surpassed 10K... We're never gonna buy a BMW again unless it's leased. I like to keep my cars long term which is why I bought my G and have modded it since with bolt ons.

BMWs are fun to drive, I'll agree with that but it depends which way you're going. Purchase for long term, get the G and mod (consider the $$$ spent for maintaining the BMW as modding money) or lease the BMW.

I hope that helps

Hello Lier200a. I am planning on keeping the car long term. Thanks for your feedback. $10K in maintenance is pretty scary. How long is the time period over which you spent that much if I can ask? Also, did something major go wrong or is that from normal wear and tear? It's posts like yours which make me lean towards the G.

Really the M3 is a nice car. I personally think they would get me in trouble. A bit too much power. The G is a nice well balanced car. I guess it depends on what you want. The M3 definately has giddy up and some people love the interior. I have heard they have improved it on the new ones but the older ones I thought were very out dated. I guess you just have to ge test drive both and see what you like. I test drove cars for 2 years before buying the G. I KNEW what I wanted befoe I went to purchase. For you the M3 may be the perfect car, or maybe the G. Only you can make that call.
