My base confused as a sport. Problem?
This all sounds shady. I work in the insurance industry and I can tell you, if things are shady with that car, you could have issues with claims and you are paying more money than you should be.
The problem is with the Base/sport that the Vin lists it as. On Carfax it just says sport, but on autocheck it says Base/sport. My insurance is charging me a hair more than just a random base of about the same mileage etc that i found on craigslist. However I didn't add all the options to that quote that my actual car has.
so i'm guessing the problem lies in with how it's listed as Base/sport. Everything else checks out.. Like for example the car was originally leased and registered in Mass and I have a Mass registration sticker on the windshield. The only thing I can see as a concern is a Lien was put on it during the initial lease and sold at auction.. Which I knew before buying, didn't think much of it. All the Vins on the vehicle matchup and I have no mechanical issues so I'm fairly content. USAA takes pretty good care of me as far as insurance goes... I know plenty of 22 and 23 year olds like myself who pay double what i pay for their 2004 Accords.

Maybe that isn't the case here, but its not a good idea to purchase a vehicle that has crossed state lines. To many shady deals, not worth the risk.
Have you given it a really good look under the hood, inside the trunk, and the undercarriage?
Hope its just a "typo".
I don't see Nissan making a mistake with a typo. but obviously something is awry. I'm shocked there's that much difference to insure a sport, but I'm guessing sport vehicles get in more accidents, and they are more to repair.
