Why buy a brand new IPL for $52K when you can buy a 1990 M3 for $5K or a 2010 M3 with 100k miles for $20k (yes I know that's a bit exaggerated but still...)

Furthermore...never, never, NEVER would I buy a used M3, S5, etc. that is out of warranty.
Agreed on the "Out of warranty" part. But regardless of the "fairness" of comparing new vs. used It's stilla a valid comparison. 50$ is a lot of screatch for what is essentially a branding premium

As is evident in this article, the IPL coupe just isn't worth it. You're better off getting a standard G37 and then modding it with the extra cash...which will be a LOT...which equals out to a LOT of improvement from base model.
and before you let anyone scare you about voided insurance you need to know that the dealer has to prove that the mods are what caused failure in order for your warranty to be voided. furthermore, certain companies like STILLEN offer products that are covered under warranty as well.

Keep in mind you can get a Lexus IS-f for around 35-40k still under warranty with medium miles. for that you get a v-8 superior interior, better suspension, four doors and...I mean its a damn LEXUS.

Does anyone own one?

They are selling one locally, said to be the first and only, and listed at 52k.

Color is that wine-ish black with red interior, automatic.

Please note:
I have tried searching but could not find anything

Really depends on what you want?
I leased my IPL, and got myself into a $200 less monthly payment then my previous car!
I never buy, and only lease for 2-3 years so I can get a new car every few years.
I would say to buy a IPL, might not be worth it but maybe leasing is a option for you??

if your set on getting an infiniti i would wait till the 2013 model. i hear there is going to be some big changes. or for 52k i would look into a different car.

IPL's seem overpriced from the get go, BUT if you can come up on a clean used / pre owned one, that's the way to go.

It's a sick car, we have a black one with red interior package here in the showroom and it's pure sex.

but true , there are many other cars out there that probably offer a bit better bang for the buck overall.

this is the truth!

Just spend $25k on a used Coupe and another $30k on a Supra!

Not sure where you got 49k for sport

There I added all the options for a 6mt sport 2012 brand new and you can get it for about 43k even lower if you are good at talking.

It depends on what you look to get out of a car. If its respect, yeah the Infinti G37 drivers will love ya. If you want performance, the IPL is not worth the money. You can get an M3 with very low miles and under warranty. Same with S4 and maybe GTR with some more cash. You can get a BRAND NEW vette and a used Z06. I mean, you have several SUPER CAR options for 52K. I wouldn't waste it on a mid 13 second car LOL.

Get a loaded G37S and either pocket the cash or spend it on mods to make it uniquely yours.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're drawn to the IPL because of the appearance? Browse the forums and check out the myriad of ways people have made their G's look fantastic.

Do some shopping, you can get a brand new IPL for the same cost as a Sport if you do your home work. I got mine for 46k with 1,200 miles. I saw where someone got one for 39k with ~2.5K miles. The one thing that was brought up is if you want to mod your car an IPL is NOT for you. I'll never understand why someone buys an IPL and changes the suspension, the exhaust etc. These are things that make an IPL what it is. An IPL has a true dual exhaust. It has a nice mellow sound to it. An IPL has 20% stiffer springs in the front an 10% stiffer in the rear over a sport. Then you get the red leather which I love. There are more features but these are the one that really make an IPL different. What it comes down to is what you want. If you go by people on this forum IPLs suck and are not worth it. Remember you are dealing with younger people that modify their cars. I will tell you, I have not seen any reason to modify my IPL. It is a great car like it is. I have modded my Z though so you can see I am not against changing up a car when I feel its needed.

As you can see...the general consensus is a no on the IPL for $52K. I agree.
