Grumble... Slid off road and hit curbing

So this was not fun. On my way home today, I slid the car through an intersection and hit the curbing on other side of road. I am not happy right now, really pissed off at myself.

No one hurt, just my car. I thought it was OK to drive, the 1/2 mile to my house. I guess not. When the car gets over 5 mph, there is a noticeable noise from the wheel and input from steering wheel is poor. I think I have damaged some linkage/suspension (says cap't obvious).

Really mad at myself right now, in the process of getting it towed to the dealership for inspection/repair.

Hopefully it's not too bad, ffffffffffffffail

Look on the bright side, you didn't hit another car, nor did you get stopped by a pole or a tree.

Years ago, I slid through an icy intersection - black ice, poor street lighting. Fortunately it was at night and there was no cross traffic (I had the red light). Had to pull over for a few min and change my shorts.

Best case scenario its just thrown out of alignment. Middle case bent strut / control arms. Worst case sub frame damage....

Yeah, hoping for best case. Will find out Monday, so I have a couple days to stew over it.

That sucks. I hit some black ice a couple years ago in my Maxima - and ended up wacking the rear left wheel against a curb. Bent rim and bunged wheel bearing.

Hopes yours isn't too serious.

Thats why I don't drive with it off unless it's "play" time. But this could have happened even with it on. VDC is not a cure all.

VDC on, driver failed to obey the laws of physics. Turning + Braking + Ice + short time in car = collision.

Here is the estimate from dealer to repair... so I am now out my deductible.

Wheel
Lower Control Arm
Steering Knuckle
Wheel Bearings
New alignment

Anyone have an OEM 18" G37x rim for sale? For the OEM Infiniti price of 1 wheel I can buy an entire set on the site.

I don't think this piece of metal should have touched any other
