You can switch after the initial break-in period. Probably after 2 initial oil changes. You are fine with Mobile One or any synthetic oil now. Make sure to get a good filter, that's what matter the most.

its completely up to you. some people changed to synthetic oil at 0, and some people changed it when its 2.5k. i'm going to change it on my next oil change, which is 7.5k

I changed to Mobil 1 at about 44K miles also on dealership oil previous. (I bought it used with 43K miles) Everything runs perfectly.

Your G will thank you for it.

Make sure to check your oil on a regular basis. Some people have seen consumption when just changing brands. I doubt this would happen to you, but it isn't a sign of the apocalypse, either.

Up to 22k my G ran on conventional dealer oil, then at 22k it got Syntec, now at 26k it got Mobil1. Runs great!

My dealer only uses Mobil1.... I thought it had to be synthetic oil anyways.

I went to a synthetic 5w30 blend after the first oil change. I change the filter every time.
