Question Car sounds like low on power steering

Morning,
My car sounds like it is a low on power steering fluid - but it isnt. I bought it a month ago and I am just now noticing it. It doesnt make noise when turning (like a belt). It just makes the sound of a power steering pump low on fluid all the time. There are no leak spots on the drive.

It is not bad but it does bother me. It probably would not bother most people.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is it only when cold? That can happen as the fluids viscosity gets thick until warmed up. If it is all the time there is something going on.

BTW you may want to use a piece of hose (to your ear for sound) and be sure it's coming from power steering. A consistant sound like that usually is bearings going bad in either the A/C compressor, power steering pump, or alternator.

It is all of the time - not just cold.

The hose is a good idea.
