I'm thinking of saving up a little piggy bank and then getting a 335i (with warranty, of course) in time. Congrats on the buy!
I say go for it if your piggy bank can handle it! It's hard to do an apple-to-apples comparison, because the 335is is $15K pricier. The G still has the better overall bang/buck ratio compared to the Beemer, IMHO.

There's a lot to be said for the 335is's torque curve. Without looking it up, I think it peaks around 1500 rpm and stays pretty flat all the way to redline. Launching it for the first time when your passenger is not ready for it can make a little pee come out of them. You may want to consider getting the upholstery protection package.

My wife works hard and drives a long way to work in bad traffic, and is the best wife and mother anyone could ask for. She deserves the best.

I am the lucky one, since the G is her "old" car. She already has her eye on a 2013 335is (or whatever the equivalent will be by then), and I will inherit her current 3. Hey, I said I was the lucky one!

Now, if I could only just convince her to love driving a convertible with a stick in heavy traffic before 2013 comes around....

I tried "Hey, hon, you would look totally hot with an overly muscular left calf and your hair all messed up 80's-style. You should get the convertible with the manual trans."

Hasn't worked so far. I'll keep at it.

I agree with that. G always wins when you compare bang for the buck, but still, a Bimmer is a Bimmer. The only thing that would make me pass on one is if it has no warranty on it. I wouldn't mind the possibility of electrical issues if it doesn't eat my wallet along with my pants, hah.

Keep trying, man. Women fall with persistence, lol. Oh, and I'm in love with the new generation 3-series. Absolutely can't wait to see the coupe. However, I think the new G will also be a kick in the butt. We'll just have to wait and see.

UPDATE: Yeah, just saw a white 335iS this morning... Drooled all over my steering wheel.

I feel all kool now. (Yes, i know it's not much use).
now when you take on an off ramp or on ramp, you will know what is helping you turn so well besides the sport suspension..

Oh, seriously? I didn't have any gaps without a heat gun. The only reason I needed to heat the 3M later on was because the tape glued off after one night.

Post some pics of yours, dude.

Exactly. You read my mind. I always kept wondering why the car switched lanes and went off/on ramps so smoothly--I was convinced I didn't have 4-WAS, though. Now it all makes sense.

Yeah, I keep seeing more and more people from Portland showing up on this forum. Which area are you from exactly?
