Clean the bumper well and take your time to get the diffuser line up properly before pressing it firmly into place.

Took me 3rd attempt to figure how to get mine lined up correctly; I started from the middle area (license plate) make sure you have the diffuser flush with the indent of the area. I peel off the 3M section at a time so you won't accidently have it stick onto the bumper at the wrong location. Helped my buddy do his took only one try!!

I have installed both V1 and V2 diffusers myself as well. Take note of what the others said, take your time and you'll be fine first try. Make sure it is not too cold when appying it or do not do it outside as the 3M will fasten much better and create a better seal initially if it is warm. If it is cold then you may want to consider applying it with a hair dryer or heat gun.

I'm waiting for my V1 CF Diffuser to arrive this week, so thanks for this thread and the previous response. It'll be freezing around the time to install it, so I'll definitely have to use a dryer or something.

OP, yes, clean bumper very, very well and alcohol prep it nicely. Line it up a few times, then peel tape.

all good pointers... here's more.

I super glued the grill from the rear just to be safe.

I also added more double sided tape than what's on the diffuser already.

I added zip ties to the middle part of the diffuser and around the bumper underneath the license plate area. ** just to be safe.

...just make sure it wont be visible once you put the licens plate back on.

+1! I definitely agree. Especially with adding more 3M tape yourself. I'm definitely doing that.

From: Framingham Ma,
Hmm all good advice, I also removed the center brackets bolted the to the car first then to the diffuser, I also removed only on side of the tape to start the install. I did one side at a time, Clean the bumper with window cleaner, An only took me one time :/.. Only thing I would change is the supplied screws? They rust in like 15 mins LOL.. Still need to change mine.

This is probably a really stupid question.. But, is this diffuser basically you just stick it on to your rear bumper? Like you dont have to cut out anything on your OEM bumper or get a whole new rear bumper correct? Just buy this diffuser, line it up, and stick it on? Thank guys!

Yes, that's exactly what you do. If you notice, our rear bumpers on the non-IPL models kind of have a shape cut out in the bumper... Almost like they intended it for diffusers. You align it, peel of heavy tape and on it sticks until you feel like removing it. That's why everyone loves Autokits. Install yourself even if you're a noob, and it looks great. It also utilizes a few clips that are on the bottom or your bumper. Very simple.

The kind you'd get at any department store. I get mine at Wal-Mart or AutoZone. It's gray-colored tape with a red outlining that you feel. That's the kind that comes on the diffuser from Autokits as well.
