G37 rear bumper cover

Ok, few days ago, my car got rear ended in the parking lot and got bumper replaced. According to the bodyshop, they used OEM parts but I'm not sure about that. They said my car is pretty new (2011) so aftermarket part doesn't even exist. Is it true? My car's still in the shop but I just got off the phone wit the shop saying they already replaced it. I dropped my car off at the body shop yesterday so that means they got the OEM bumper right away, is it possible?

because when i usually ordered something from dealer it would take at least 2~3 days. How do they get OEM part in 1 day?

Did they order it before you dropped it off there?

How about ask the shop for an invoice/receipt for the bumper to see where they got it from?

I agree with going to look at it right away, but a lot of dealerships have a collision center and keep body parts on hand. It's very likely the rear and front bumper are on hand at most car dealerships since accidents are a common issue.

Could be possible that they just fixed your original bumper. Cheaper for them to fix it and they make more $$$ by lying and charging you for a replacement bumper. How bad was the damage?

Had my rear bumper fixed and painted for $300 while a new bumper alone would've cost $550

sounds like its an easy repair.....

My rear bumper was ripped off around the driver side wheel well and had a crack in the center (above the license plate).
