DONT FLAME ME!.......lol
Wondering if there are any TSB's that I should be aware of for my 08' G37S Coupe. I am going to the stealership on Thursday to drop off the car to get the steering wheel (trim) replaced, and a rattle in my passenger door by the upper speaker fixed.
I searched quickly, but came up N/A on any useful info......so help me out OG Guru's! lol
Thanks,
Topher

TSBs are not recalls. Just complain about whatever problems you've got. If you don't know about it already, it's not a problem for you.
A TSB is a just a memo from corporate telling techs that some guy at a different dealership fixed a problem that was giving him alot of trouble by doing _________. It's not a recall. You can't bring your car in for TSB work. That doesn't make any sense.

A recall on the on the other hand must be honored whether or not said item is working properly. And unlike TSB's recalls are free of charge regardless of warranty status.
You can bring you car in for TSB work. The TSB (technical service bulletin) is issued to all dealerships because it is a recognized issue that has been brought in by a number if different owners. It's issued to dealerships to make them all aware of the issue and aware how to fix it should their customers have it. You might have the problem in your car and just never noticed it. For example, the widespread battery drain caused by a faulty vent valve on the '08. If you started and ran your car every single day you might have had the problem but never known because the car never sat long enough for the battery to die. You can ask for them to be performed if your car is still under warranty.
Check infinitihelp.com and there's a good list of TSB's by model and year. If you've had any of those issues, print them and take them with you in case the service writer or tech are unfamiliar with them.
A recall is usually a safety issue that a manufacturer agrees to fix for all car's regardless if warranty status. If there is a safety recall, you will usually be notified, you don't have to search it out.

^^ Exactly, TSB's are only if you're experiencing the issue. With my previous car there was a TSB for turbocharger replacement due to premature failure of the oil seals. A month before my warranty ran out I brought it in for said TSB and the dealer could not make my car smoke. I was told they can't process the claim unless the issue can be recreated in the shop.
At the end of the day it really depends on the dealership.

You have to have a problem for a TSB to mean anything. A TSB saying that an alternator should be replaced to fix "problem A" doesn't mean that everyone with a G gets a free alternator because they "demand" that the TSB be done. You have to have a problem. It should also be known that the dealership doesn't have to do what's in the TSB to attempt to fix your problem even if it's exactly what is described in the TSB. They may know an easier way to fix the problem, or just want to charge Nissan more labor while they fiddle with your car. You can't ever force them to perform work in a TSB. The vast majority of techs will do it anyway because they don't like doing extra work and the TSB normally fixes the issue. You probably don't like making extra work for yourself at whatever job you have, and neither do they.
On the other hand, you can always force them to perform recalls. You may have to set up an appointment, but they can't legally refuse to do the work.
Flipping through TSBs to determine if your car has a problem or not is like reading the side effects of some prescription then suddenly realizing, OMG, you're developing side effects. If it isn't worth complaining about before you read that someone else complained about it, it's not worth complaining about.

,, TSB's are what everyone said just "known"issue something for the dealer to reference, thats all. Issues that have been brought up multiple times by multiple customers. Good luck at the Stealership AHHAHAH
Dayum, I only asked a simple question! LOL, I know what TSB's are.......and I am still under warranty, hence why I want to locate some that I might be able to use.
Lol funny you figured out it was a Mazda. Yeah Mazda dealerships suck ***.
