No longer an Infiniti owner.. dealership screw up
I agree, I traded in my GenCoupe for quality reasons as well. Cutting corners is a good way to describe the build of the car.
Let me be the first to tell you. I have a Hyundai myself man, a $30K 2010 3.8 Track Model Genesis Coupe, and there is a reason why its 30K, because they cut so many corners to stop it from being 50K like its supposed to be. Thats why I'm buying a G in the spring.
When I bought my GC I really thought Hyundai had turned the corner, but in reality, they took the exact same cars, and just put pretty bodies on them. It has failed multiple transmissions (a Hyundai usual), several body parts aren't flush, sounds like its rattling loose as it hits bumps, and just generally blah. Plus best thing, offer the best warranty available, but will fight you tooth and nail to actually APPLY that warranty to any situation you have.
I wish you the best of luck with those Hyundais, but from my experience, they meet their reputation.

You have to have excellent credit/teir 1 credit to qualify for the lease rates listed. They always have some sale/listing of a really cheap monthly payment but its based on a vehicle that's not fully loaded (I read that you didn't need nav) and excellent credit as well as a huge down payment. It's hard to qualify for the advertised payments but it is possible...
Same things happened to me.
The issue with me is that I don't mind paying more if the experience is positive. I see no point haggling over a few hundred if it's going to take more time than I have or want to spent.
In your case, the sales guy was just either a novice or a jackass. I have met a few of those before. The positive is that make it easier to walk away.

I think you just have to go into a dealership knowing it's not going to be a fun experience.
I bought my '11 G about three weeks ago. I was "working from home" while driving into the dealership just to get my trade appraised.
They of course took their time, while they got the G I wanted ready so that I could see it and test drive it. I had to explain to them that I didn't have time to test drive it or get into a negotiation. They of course stalled and stalled until I finally got up and said look I gotta go, I got work to do.
I did end up buying the car from them, and I'm assuming selling anything can be a total pain in the ***, espeically with wishy washy customers (like myself) lol

$399 + 700 lease acquisition + Doc fee + tax +DMV fee.
usually it is around $1750 down as well...
It is a little high but the "Lease Specials" are often misleading, it is always +++, with 10,000 miles allowed per year, with a down payment (even thought you should have $1000 in owner loyalty). But yeah its high. Thats the game. Nobody gets the best numbers at first unless you talk to the Internet Manager before coming in. Salesmen have to eat too, can't blame them for trying to make $$

You were upset at the 4k down yet thats what the special is based off of. 2011 G37 Journey with premium package. 3499 drive off (not including dmv) 10k miles per year and 39 months. Yes your payment was high, but they also did not check your credit at this point so they are going to come out a little high, thats how it goes, especially with walk in customers. It is your job to negotiate down. Now agree that the salesperson is probably not the best here, but I think you might have taken things a too bit too aggressively. Not having it in drive is probably meant by having it in Drive Sport which makes the transmission drive differently. Just a tip next time do everything over then internet much easier
i would like to add though that towbin infiniti is horrible and their morals are horrid

Dealerships can be a pain. We owned an Xterra. Went to the Nissan dealership because we wanted the Pathfinder. The salesman tells us he wants to put us in something we could afford. This is after the first five minutes of talking to him. He had no idea what kind of money we were pulling. Needless to say, we wound up getting an Explorer.
You can never tell. The suggestion of Internet shopping is a good one. We used that to get our G. I negotiated a deal online. Got to the dealership and they tried to back out of it. Luckily, I had printed the transcript and got them cornered. I told them I was walking out if they did not give me the quoted price. Eventually they did. Since it was such a good deal, I purchased the G, though I hated given the salesman the money.

I can understand your frustration. I am in my third lease that is up at the end of October. All the time I went thru the same dealership and thru the same sales guy. Walked in to see what they can do for me on a new G37 6MT (since in my eyes, I have been a great customer to them. 3 cars and all service done thru dealership). My sales guy basically blew me off (helping out a new customer). Comes back and tells me to lease a new one would be $580. I'm like how when I was paying $400 (with no down and just tax+tags) for my '08 6MT fully packaged. Then he basically tells me I had the basic G37 and thats why my payment was low. Basically got up and left. Its funny how they blew off existing customers for new ones. Since I already have a company car, not going to be getting a new Infiniti any time soon.
