38K Maintenance Service at INFINITI

Hi,

My 2008 G37 Coupe 6MT had its 38K mile maintenance which lasted 5 days. I just want to post this just in case someone else has seen/feels the same issues with their vehicle. Sacramento Infiniti in Roseville, CA did a great job IMO fixing all issues that I wasnt even aware of. Althought it scares me a little that all of this stuff was needed at 38K miles. Another reason why I took the vehicle is because the full warranty will be no more in September of this year.

1. Brake Judder -TSB ITB09-037B - Brakes replaced

2. Front Brake Pulsation from Front Rotors - Rotors resurfaced

3. Rear subframe bushings found to be leaking - Replaced rear subframe assembly. The vehicle was given an alignment and values show within spec.

4. Steering Wheel Switch Finisher (bezel) coating coming off - Entire steering wheel replaced but not the airbag.

5. Aluminum door grip coating damaged - Replaced

6. Strong Oil Burning smell when reving engine over 4K RPM - Apparently the oil from the rear subframe bushings seal leaked on the exhaust. I test drove car and the smell is gone.

7. Battery Low - TSB ITB10-010C - Replaced with new battery and found that the vent control valve was staying on even when car was shut down. It was also replaced and the ECU reprogrammed.

8. Exterior Sun roof molding cracking - Replaced entire sunroof

9. Combination meter lid does not sit flush and deformed - Replaced meter lid

10. Cabin Filter - Replaced but I paid for this one.

11. Rear axle clicking - TBS ITB08-018B

If anyone needs more info reply or send me a PM

Thanks,

NGZ

Wow good dealership there!

Did they replace the brakes without asking any questions? And how did they find out about the rear subframe bushings?

Curious; did you actually hear any noises from rear axle? Many of us here, have numerous rattling, and or clicking posts. I read the TSB is exclusive to certain model years, but I wonder if this TSB addresses exactly what some of us hear.

If you did hear it, try and describe the sound for us

Hmmm #9 - I have cracking in the rubber surrounding seal. But it's not cracked on the actual edge, just throughout the surface itself I see cracks in the rubber... Did you have same issue???

That's the one most important fix here since that could lead to a leaking roof.

great writeup! My G goes in on monday to have the steering wheel replaced(same issue - chipping) as well as the dash cover(was curling up from the heat).

actually suprised they replaced your brakes. That's considered "normal wear" which isn't covered by warrenty.

They replaced the brakes without asking questions. I just took in the car for any maintenance required and the mechanical noticed the bushing was leaking fluid on the exhaust. I guess they looked under the car when I mentioned there was noises coming from the right rear suspension upon making a sharp right turn into a banked parking lot. Sounds like the seats are rubbing with the plastic trim but definitely wasnt that as I found out.

I did hear some noise coming from the rear axle it sounds like the left hand side. Same issue with G35 coupe I guess; I had one before the G37. Its like a clicking noise I can hear it only when I am driving next to a wall at around 20 - 35 mph.

I think you mean number 8 with sun roof issue. The rubber is cracked on the surface and not all the way to where there would be a water leak. I mentioned this to the infiniti rep to see if he would only replace the gasket but I guess its easier to replace everything.

The dealership gave me a sedan and it had the same issue. I dont know if this is a general issue or not. The sedan only had 22K miles.

Ahhh perhaps is different. I only hear it when accelerating from dead stop onwards. And its a one time click. Everyone is pointing to a possible seatbelt and or back seat. I will mess with it over the weekend. Got downtime.

My bad #8! Yeah took a good look at it and it's more along the edge all the way around. I'll take it to my dealer to see if it's a issue.
