Angry got rear ended FML

Whats up guys? long story short (your welcome), i was sitting at a red light when i heard a loud screech behind me. looked in rear view and then BAM, dude rocked me pretty good. everything with his insurance worked out well, i have a check and ready to get this thing i the shop and get fixed.

this guy was definately moving at a decent rate of speed, there were skid marks 30 ft long before impact, aluminum piece behind bumper completely cracked in half. he pulled to the right (curb side) before impact, so the brunt of the impact occured right around my muffler cut outs on my bumper. he actually kinked the rear passenger side quarter panel in two spots

anyway, it looks as if on the estimate they are giving me somewhere around 700 dollars for the rear exhaust muffler. what are my options other than OEM muffler/gaskets that i can get for a similar price?? i like the stock sound, but wouldnt mind something with more of a deep growl instead of the high pitch "whine". id appreciate a little info from you guys, im still trying to educate myself on modification options for this particular car.

08 G37S 6mt fyi.

Topspeed makes a cheapo version of the Tanabes (google topspeed exhaust).

btw, are you sure you only need the muffler portion replaced? the mid pipe was not damaged?

that's all the info i have right now, the Progressive guy told me that they were replacing the muffler and that's all that it says on the estimate. when my body guy gets under it and starts taking it apart, he might find that the mid pipe was damaged, but untill then this is all i have.

i dont really want anything "cheapo", but also dont want to come out of my pocket for anything due to prior expenses this summer. i guess i might just be better off going OEM and hassle free?

thanks for the response

if you want hassle free, then stick with OEM normal or the OEM sport version.

make sure you file a claim for diminished value, as now this will show up on carfax reports etc. and lower the value of your car
