Need some help... G37S coupe feeling sluggish

So I just retired my 1993 300zxTT to the driveway after 10yrs and bought a 2009 G37S and am in love. Another amazing machine pumped out by nissan. But I have a question. So I live in ny and work in the bronx and drive to work everyday 1hr - 1.5hr w/ traffic. The past week I feel the car acting a little sluggish and am a little concerned. My drive is on the highway and the past week in NY has been 100 degrees everyday. Is there a safety mode that cuts the power if the engine starts heating up? Is that the possible sluggish feel? Also the other night a racoon tried to run the highway literally a sec before I hit him and he hit the left lower corner of my bumper. Dented the lower bumper, knocker the left corner off a little, broke out the small plastic mesh in the corner and the plastic lining of the wheel well ripped open. pushed out the dent in the plastic and popped the bumper back but is there any mechanical or electrical parts I should worry about there that can cause the sluggish feeling?? I also recently got an oil change and used the expensive ester based synthetic oil from infiniti? If anything maybe causing this please let me know. Thank you guys and I'm proud to say I own a G37 coupe!! Love it

Its the 100+ temps that make it feel slugish.
I live in nyc area & have noticed car runs slow in this heat.
Not much you can do except adding oil cooler.

^^He's right. It's the hot temp, plus A/C being on (I suppose).

I'm in Phoenix and yes high temps + A/C kills any performance. For me my car runs best when the temps are < 80. But here in Phoenix that only about 6 moths out of the year. Something you have to put up with. As for anything mechanical in the front bumper, nothing to worry about there, just cosmetic.

Yep, car motor would much rather breath cool air, than hot air. You should notice the car running better when you first drive off in the cooler morning air than during the heat of the day.

I think I saw someone mention that timing is retarded up to 5 degrees once the inlet air temp reaches 95 or so.

My car was sluggish too, driving home from Virginia at the end of last week. Then again, the outdoor temp reading on the info panel got up to 111 degrees at 70 mph, so I guess I should expect slightly worse performance than normal Temp reading never got any higher than it normally is, so the car did its job.

+1, Hot weather makes any car feel like a pile of slush! Today it was only like 80 and I def felt the reservoir of torque in the VQ was much more present!
