So I decided to Tint my 2011 G37xS

I decided to get my G37xS couple tinted on this coming Friday. I live in Minnesota and I guess the tinting laws are pretty strict here. Up until recently, you could get tint darker than 50% installed if you signed a waiver. Now you can't even do that anymore. Legit installers can't install anything darker than 50%.
You can see pics of my pre tinted G in the newbie section.
I've never had anything tinted before so I'm not even sure what 50% even looks like. Is it dark enough to notice?

I would find someone willing to do darker tint. 50% isn't going to be very good, not worth the money IMO

Tinting %'s is based on how much light is allowed in the car

So in NY for your front windows the max you can tint is 70%, which means that 70% of the light is let in the car.

5% is limo tint - only 5% of light gets in the car

In my opinion and experience, in NY nd NJ you will get pulled over at least a couple of times for anything under 20.

i have 35% on my front windows.. its barely worth it. not as dark as i wanted and you can see right through on a sunny day. 50% wont even be noticeable; the only reason you would want 50% is if heat reduction is your only concern. if looks mean anything, dont go above 35%. there is a tint thread on here with a bunch of tinted g's. take a look and you'll see how light 35% is, and why no one really does 50% lol

From: Framingham Ma,
I have 355 all the way around on mine and happy, 50% I would leave the windows alone.

I have the 2011 G37x in Blue Slate and just got tinted a couple of weeks ago (35% all around, including the sunroof). I live in IL, could've gone 50%, but I have the graphite leather interior and it's plenty dark with the 35%. Here's a pic:

That 15% really makes a difference tint wise. Can you see ok at night?

IMHO 50% is not worth the money, you wont even notice it. FWIW, you could go 35% and I found that is the "just right" tint not too dark to get pulled over and not too light either. Goodluck with your choice

wow - 50% is the most strict tint law I've heard of.

I have 35% all around (darkest legal here) with the exception of 20% on the back window
