Just so that we're clear, stock for stock, a G37 will take a STi/WRX in a straight line at any speed, unless you're going from a dig.

the one reason, and its the only reason i will never buy a Subaru- TINY DOORS! i can never get out of that car normally with those tiny barn-yard swing doors. (and im only 5'11")

other reasons; its partly a Toyota, its got ugly/horrible interior, that strange boxer engine exhaust tone, and the fact that, that car is mostly driven by modern hippies & unmarried 55yr old women with 9cats and 2golden retrievers. lol

I had a scoobie for 8 years before getting the G and I must say, trading G for a Subaru is not unreasonable.
All personal preferences aside, Subaru's are absolutely awesome cars. With better fuel economy despite being AWD, they will give the G a run for its money.
And then come the mods... oh man, you can make a screamer out of any scoobie.

I'd personally recommend a used 2007-2009 Legacy GT B4 Sedan. If you want a new one, they are good cars, but designed suffered a lot in latest gen.

YouTube - tuned Legacy B4

sti was killing me until top end(both modded heavily) sti is no joke, very fast. 4.8 0 to 60 & 106.5 mph in the 1/4 @13.5
stock will eat us bad,as much as I hate to admit it.
plus the higher top end with awd.

Thanks!
In my opinion there is no Subaru to match G, as sport car wrx sti is very good, but ugly and not luxury enough to be g competitor.

Any year stock STi/STI, a stock G37 will take it from a roll, period.

I find that hard to believe. Maybe from a 80 mph roll but not from a lower speed. I raced a G37 with my MS6 which had a CAI and upgraded intercooler. I was keeping up until 80 or so and that's when the G started to pull away. A few days later I found this on my intercooler.

Installed the factory one and the car felt like it gained 50hp. That's how bad it was leaking. If my car was able to kinda keep up with a G37 with a broken intercooler, I don't see a reason why an STI which is considerably faster than the MS6 at least keep up if not beat a G37. I know for a fact that the 06-07 are capable of low 13's and 4.5's 0-60. I know the '11's suck but those older STI's are pretty damn fast.

Just look at the trap speed of each car, and you'll understand why.

People think STI/EVOs are much faster than they are, because stock ones are rare. They're nothing special stock.

Trap speeds are nearly identical. STI's trap anywhere from 100-102 and G37's trap anywhere from 100-103 depending on the transmission with the 7AT's being a tad bit faster. 1/4 mile the G has absolutely no chance. The STI will get the hole and continue pulling and pass the traps at least half a second earlier at the same speed as the G. That's a lot of ground to catch up even if the G will reach 110 first it will still be playing catch up until 130 or so. If both cars race from a 80mph roll them the G should be a good car ahead by 120 or so.

People think their G's/Z's are faster than they are but they're nothing special stock.
