yeah thats the issue a lot of people have. I believe any "X" model whether it be "X" or "xS" is still going to be auto. but really, if youre in michigan I'd highly recommend the all wheel drive unless you have some other vehicle for snow conditions. Here in NJ, I have a g37x and its saved my butt numerous times. I'm actually glad I got it last year to help me out other this year's brutal winter storms. No way in hell my 03 Acura TL would have been able to handle the snow like the g37x does, even though the TL was front wheel drive.

6MT's Snow Tires Work

And snow tires will not help, you need AWD to even attempt to take a G37 coupe out in the snow.
I have to disagree on the comments that you have to run a X in 'snow' country. I am driving my 3rd 6MT since 2005 in Utah, home of the 'Greatest Snow on Earth' with the limited slip differential and a cheap pair of Korean snow and ice tires I have never had a day that I couldn't get around almost as well as anyone on the road. If you want the 6MT go for it...

This is where I thought I was but with the additional weight of AWD and the 3-5 months you may have an issue with snow and ice, snow and ice tires may be a better way to go.

Why is that? I also realized the G37S has both options..

Also, What package and options come on it?
I would prefer fully loaded, but I don't know what fully loaded is

If someone could just inform me on some of the options and packages and what not. I'd appreciate is!

How well does your G do in snow? I am looking for the 2008 G37S 6mt.
I hear snow tires = no problem. Really...? I live in Michigan.

Thank you!!
I live in Boston where we got dumped on with over 3ft of snow, however the G being my only car, I have blizzaks on them and the car runs like a champ, just drive smart and you will be fine..

From: Framingham Ma,
I'm in a turf snow area Boston also. Just picked up a G37X coupe. I was in your boat also
wanting a 6Spd but was happy I got the X. RWD in the snow is fine with a good set of snows but AWD
is better. Personal choice is yours. Plus the deal I got on the X was crazy.

We just had a freak snow storm here in Toronto. I've had my G37S 6MT for less than a week, so it's the first time I've driven it in snow.

The S models come with summer tires, not all-seasons. I'm not sure what they do on the Journey models. You'll want to check that. I can confirm that with the stock summer tires, this vehicle is borderline undriveable in the snow. That came as no surprise to me. It was predictable, and handled well, but there's no grip with those tires.

I predict that with snow tires on (next winter), it will be a heck of a lot better.

The last couple of vehicles I've driven have been AWD. I wanted to get the same for the G, but I wanted the stick shift that much more, so I had to sacrifice it.

AWD helps you to not get stuck in snow, but remember, that's about all it does. I've been in 4-wheel slides with both of my AWD vehicles (that's what overconfidence will do for you).

I think the G will be able to get going in most snow conditions with snow tires on it. As for handling and braking while on the move, snow tires work the same whether they're on an AWD vehicle or a RWD vehicle.

DO NOT get a G with that chrome thingy on the trunk lid. It is like a hot chick with a big hairy mole on her chin...just ruins everything. Spend the 500 and get that sh*t removed.

Try to find one with the splash guards as well...in this case a small mod goes a long way in enhancing the look of the car...especially at the rear.

Oh and you can drive the G37 in the snow with the stock tires...only thing is that the car will insist on only going sideways....as*s first.

Unfortunately you cannot go check infinitiusa.com to check the option packages as many have suggested due to the fact that has changed for 2011. I have a 2008 and back then the base MSRP was around $36.5K for the 6MT model and you could pretty much add everything you wanted to it: premium package, navigation, spoiler, illuminated kick plates, etc. Nowadays the 6MT model pretty much comes fully loaded with a base around $42K if I remember correctly.

These might help :

Sorry bro...didn't mean to insult your G or anything but I do think the chrome thing on the trunk looks horrible. Have you considered replacing it with the OEM spoiler? Would do wonders for your car.
